To protect our nation we have to develop a cargo security system that closes vulnerabilities, provides a way to resume trade after an incident, and maintains the efficient flow of commerce.

 While this event has been in progress today, some two million tons of cargo has passed through British ports. The sea-lanes are of vast importance to this country and it is the Royal Navy that guarantees our access to them.

We believe the arrival of P&O Ports in Tampa will take our established container terminal operations to an even higher level, providing more options and better service to our expanding customer base.
