Being an exEngland manager gezegde

 Being an ex-England manager, one that failed to qualify for the World Cup, is like being a dead politician.

 I think they'll qualify and I don't think the manager should be sacked despite all the media criticism. There clearly has to be a bit of rethink but I do believe, with the individuals they've got, that England are capable of doing very well. Hopefully they will examine their recent performances and their pride will stimulate them.

 The England manager has never put any pressure on me, ... OK, it is a World Cup year and it is nice to be playing and playing in England, but if it was not a World Cup year, I would still have had the drive to come back and play in English football.

 I'm very excited because the big aim for us since two years ago has been to qualify for the World Cup and there were a lot of discussions about England not going, especially after the Northern Ireland game.  Whoever comes in as England manager it is up to him to pick the new captain, but at the end of the day I'm not going to give it up easily. There are the European championships to come and then maybe another World Cup.

 As a player, especially me, I feel like I failed the manager, ... Unfortunately, he has to be the fall guy. If we were 91-71, he'd be voted Manager of the Year.

 We don't want to come to a dead end and we hope that every politician agrees that they don't want to see a political dead end.

 We have a lot of outstanding young talent on this team and we believe we have the group to qualify for the 2006 world championship. We competed well against the top teams in our zone in exhibition play in Brazil and now we are ready to put it all together and qualify for the world championship.

 Everyone in Poland dreams about playing against England. It's a prestigious fixture and Wednesday night is huge for us. We mustn't have any fear or get caught up in the hype around England and their manager. We just have to go out and play our game.  I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Clive over the last four years with England and would personally like to congratulate him on the success he has achieved in leading England to the World Cup and as the number one team in the world,
