It's going to take one of our best defensive efforts of the year to go into Omaha and win. It's a very important game that will go a long way in deciding who's going to have a chance to play for a conference title in late February.

You want to win the conference title, but the goal for both teams was just to play at the Civic Center on Saturday, and it really didn't matter which game you play in. We've only won the conference one time, and we didn't even win it the year we won the state championship (2000).

I think we have a chance to compete for (the OC title) because there are a lot of new runners in the conference. (Defending champion) Chilton is going to be tough again. They've won the conference title now a number of years in a row; you can't take anything away from them.

It's important to us, and I think it's even more important to us that we've been able to move up into the upper bracket and win it last year and play for the title this year. We knew if we got to the championship game and were fortunate to beat Cabell Midland that we would face a very good team.

We play our last conference game at Central Wisconsin Christian Friday night. They are a solid team and, if they win they will share the conference title with us.

He made huge strides this year. His footwork came a long way. His sense of a team game came a long way. You can play in the park all day long and not think about defensive positioning or offensive spacing.
