 From my viewpoint, I don't know if it's not a burning issue for the people, or they don't know it's going on. We'd like to have public input and know what they think, but they're just not coming.

 I don't know that we'll be ready with a recommendation on Feb. 14 in this regard, but I'm trying to get this out in the public for input. We're getting input from both sides of the issue.

 Public input is critical to the licensing process, so people need to be familiar with what the applicants are proposing. There is tremendous interest in gaming throughout Pennsylvania, so the Board is taking these steps to enhance the participation of as many people as possible in the public-input hearings.

 The board welcomes all input and will consider all public input. Public input is a critical component of the licensing process.

 The issue has been decided, so it?s likely we would probably do nothing with them. But the point has been made that any kind of public input is public record.

 The governor will not change his mind on this bill. The legal issues do not change, regardless of public input. It will take another vote of the people or a court action to determine the issue.

 If additional information is required as a result of the input received during the public comment period, they will communicate that as well. Also, everyone who made a public comment or asked to be included on the department's mailing list concerning this issue will receive a copy of the response to comments.

 This issue, combined with the lack of public input and the problems with informing the public clearly about meeting agendas simply reinforce the idea that the demolition of this historic building was a foregone conclusion and the numbers were simply manipulated to make it look more expensive.

 Public access is now a hot political issue. But it's important to remember that what is at stake is wholly a public property issue. Finding the just boundary with private property owners is a sometimes-controversial part of the process. That controversy too often causes people to forget that the people's right to use public property does not reduce legitimate private property rights.

 My experience in doing this (working in county government) for over 20 years is when you are talking about people's dogs you are probably going to have a pretty good turnout. I hope there is a good turnout on all sides of the issue. It's the public's opportunity to have input on their government.

 We consider the public's input critical to our season-setting process. We held 11 local public meetings around the state and valuable information was gathered at those meetings. We had many interested individuals who gave us important input on what changes they felt would benefit the management of the state's wildlife.

 We will be filing later this spring after we continue this public-input program and we are still working on a lot of the technical input.

 Public input is huge. That's why the plan has been such a big success, because of the local input.

 It was our intent to inform the public of what we were doing. We wanted input from the public. We wanted to make sure that we as a commission made our decisions with sound based on not only the guidelines and the ordinance, but also the wishes of the people,

 The dogma of science is that the will cannot possibly affect external forces, and I think that's just ridiculous. It's as bad as the church.
