Central is extremely athletic and can beat anybody any night. All we want to do is improve in everything we do from offensively and defensively and our goal is to get a little better every day.

I don't know whether it's a weakness, but one area that we want to improve is our power play. Our penalty killing has to improve, too. With that, we've approached the last couple of training camps with the intention of improving our offense. Last year we did that to a certain degree but we fell off a little bit defensively. Except (Smith) probably shoots the ball even better. He's a very long, athletic player who can make plays both offensively and defensively.

He's a guy who has sacrificed a lot offensively to do what he does defensively to make the offensive guy look the way he looks. Consistently, night in and night out, he does the same thing without a word back. I think that's what you call a consummate team player.

Central is a solid, well-coached team. They're fast and extremely athletic. But our girls never did give up; they played their best and I'm proud of 'em.

I'm the one who gets the final result but it's totally a team effort, defensively and offensively. Defensively we've been getting the job one and offensively we're scoring a lot of goals. That adds up to winning hockey.
