 Scott is a natural leader. And he had a winner's attitude. He's just a tremendous competitor. When it got down to crunch time, he wanted the ball, he wanted to make the play. And he was smart. He understood the offense, and we really were doing some different things back then. Everyone had confidence in him.

 We weren't impressive at all. We hit some impressive shots. We had some impressive points. But overall, our play was lackluster. I think they just wanted to beat us more.

 We've had our eye on the Washington market for probably about two years. We wanted to come sooner, but because we had a competitor, we wanted to bring our best effort forward. . . . We wanted to make sure we had something really good versus something that was just okay.

 We wanted to give a special effort, we wanted to win this game for him. We talked about it, and came out playing the game we wanted to play.

 Obviously, we wanted a better effort and we wanted to play smarter. We need to go back to basics and play a simpler game. Frustration is a big factor and hard to control, but we have to find a way.

 He and Timmy have always had some great duels. Not seeing (Garnett) on the court is very strange, because you know what a competitor he is.

 When he was let go, I knew in our building process that having a player like Timmy can only help us in all ways. Timmy is a great professional and he's a plus to every team he's on.  I don't get sick talking about him because he is such a great kid. The respect he has for older players and the game is impressive.

 He definitely has proved why all the accolades have been thrown his way. He took over that game single-handedly. Unfortunately, we didn't have an answer. You can't do anything in terms of trapping or double-teaming him. Three-quarters of his points were off missed shots where he just wanted it more. For a coach that appreciates effort on the glass as much as I do, that was as an impressive performance as I've seen.

 He wanted to play. We let the team decide that. Porter's a competitor, and they voted to let him come out. He's a competitor from the time he walks on the practice field to the time he walks off. He's a nice addition to our defense.

 We are going from the bottom to the top all together so it's important for us to enjoy the journey, and that is what we are doing right now. We have four days off coming up here, and I would have been sick as a dog if we would have lost this game. I just wanted to step up and inspire us to play well, and it turned into something special.
