 We were playing a lot closer at the end of the season. They're a little bit ahead of us.

 You feel like a family during the regular season, any time you win the team's always closer, that sort of thing. When you're playing for your country, it's almost like you're playing for your brothers. It's a little sweeter.

 It just depends on the games and how they're playing or how we're playing. Some games are closer than others. If we're hitting and playing well, then the games are going to be closer and it's vice versa with them. They're a lot bigger, but we definitely have a fun time. It's hard because we play seven days a week. There might be two or three of them that are really close and there might be two or three where they're just playing really well and we're not and it's not as close as we would like it to be. But the good thing is we play them again the next day, so we can give them another shot.

 He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything. For a while there we were inching closer and closer. Unfortunately the teams ahead of us were not losing. ... It's going to be hard to watch [the playoffs] because you want to be a part of it. I was watching hockey almost every day this year until we were out of it. Then I was not even interested in looking at it anymore.

 It was a little closer than the score indicates, but I felt it was a good first match. I'm playing with a lot of confidence right now after this season and I hope I can go a lot further in this tournament.

 There are none. It's getting closer. These kids are playing hard and getting closer every week. We just need a breakthrough more for them than anything else.

 I feel closer to playing, closer to being able to play. Last week, I couldn't.

 For me it wasn't a surprise. I knew I might not have a chance. Everybody was a step ahead. Well, not one, several steps ahead. This was what could have happened. I'll keep going forward and try to make the team later in the season. ... One of the toughest things was not being able to compete. For now I feel good physically. Maybe by the middle of the season I'll be able to come up.

 It certainly doesn't get old. As you progress through a season, you grow closer and closer to the guys on the team. Each season is its own entity. Watching your team grow and get better, that never gets old.

 I don't think you can really look ahead right now in this organization, ... I don't want to look ahead, because I don't know what's going to happen. Because it's just obvious something is going to happen. I'm just looking forward to helping the team win this season and go out with a bang and have some good numbers on my resume when the season's over.

 The playoffs are maybe six, seven weeks away. I'm a lot further ahead than I thought I was going to be at this point. I wanted to get back a little closer to 100 per cent (before returning) ... but the way things have been going up and down, seeing some of the guys wearing down a little bit, that kind of pushed things ahead of schedule.

 It's great. I'll look back on it after the season and I'll think about it. But we're still playing football and I try not to dwell on it because it kind of clouds your vision for the week ahead.

 It's going to give us an idea of where we're at and what we need to improve on. It will by no means define our season, because we feel that our best days are yet ahead of us and we've got to get ourselves playing to that level.

 (Hunt) has a good doubles lineup, and that's what pulled it out for them. It was, by far, our best performance of the season. Each time, we keep getting closer and closer to a win. Hopefully, next time we'll finally get it.

 Brian pulls ahead with about a mile to go. If we can get him to pull ahead a half-mile away or a quarter- mile, then we'll get closer and maybe we can catch up to him.
