en What I wanted them to know is that what was going on in California in 1968 was happening here in Texas, too, at the same time. What a film like this does, is tell our youth what their parents did to make things better for them.

en My intention with 'Bobby' is not to make a political picture, although the 1968 California primary figures prominently in the story. The film is about being at critical mass -- critical mass in relationships or between race, and the hotel and the characters under its roof serve as a microcosm for what was happening in the country during that time. The entire country was experiencing critical mass. Culturally, we all unraveled after that tragic night on June 5. And now, 37 years later, our country has reached critical mass once again.

I can't make a living doing theatre. But I can't wait to come back. I'm doing a lot of film auditioning. I'm trying to make a transition into film. I'd like to see if I could have a little success in front of the camera.

en Mr. Bush likes to point to the fact that Texas is an industrial state and that's why it's so polluted. That's not the case. In fact for the industries we look at, California has far more of these big industrial smog polluters. But California enforces the law. Texas doesn't.

en We get more inquiries from California kids than anywhere else. California and Texas, I?d say, make up for almost 50 percent of the inquiries.

en I read a lot. And both of my parents, I think, would have wanted to be writers. It's funny how one ends up doing the things that-that parents-perhaps, the dreams that parents couldn't fulfill. I know that my mother would have been beyond herself to have had a story published in The New Yorker.

en It's very much an ensemble film — I can't stress that enough because all the actors I worked with are all tremendous, ... Many different things happen within the film, the characters kind of intertwine and by the end, they come to the same level and connect. So it's hard to explain, but basically it's about dysfunctional youth and families in suburban America.

en One of the things that 50 Cent has achieved is this sort of media convergence where you have the video game and film and the album and the clothing line all happening at the same time,
