It was a little gezegde

 It was a little bit hard, because I had to warm up on the mound. The umpires told me to take my time, and that's what I tried to do.

 I am a person who is not ashamed to say where I am from and I spoke to everybody from the barber to the hotel guards - I told everyone that I'm Israeli. Most of the time I got a warm response. A small group was indifferent, and only one time someone said he was against it. Most of the time, people were warm and curious about where I'm from.

 We need to take this stand. It's been a long time coming for Minor League umpires. We all have a passion for umpiring. It'd be crazy to just go out there and get yelled at, but we love umpiring. Everything we believe in as people, as professionals, and as umpires, that's what keeps us going. We have integrity as umpires.

 That's the thing. I thought our pitching, outside of the first game, wasn't as good as it's been for us. I told the guys after the game, 'Don't start believing the stats you have. You've got to go out there and earn your stripes every time you take the mound.' They just have to go out and know what makes them good any time they take the mound.

 We want to see minor league umpires working on the field rather than just warm bodies. Minor league umpires are the people that are trained to do the job and protect the integrity of the game. They're trained professionals.

 We've always said that's probably the widest mound in the league ? and maybe all of baseball. I really think the mound is too wide. That ball by Heintz was hit hard and then it hit the side of the mound. But that's not what lost us the game.

 He's probably the only pitcher that I know who really didn't need to warm up. You know most guys start out warming up slow and gradually increase their speed. When I knew Elmer, he went to the mound, he opened up and he was just about full speed on his first warm-up pitch. That struck me as being unusual.

 There's no clinic in the world where we'll have six major league umpires at one time and four top minor league umpires. It's kind of a neat thing.

 He goes out there, throws strikes and really battles hard on the mound. We know anytime that D.J. is on the mound we have a good chance to win.

 In baseball, players don't like being shown up and umpires are professionals and we don't like to be shown up either. When he did it the second time I felt that he should be told in no uncertain terms it wasn't going to be tolerated.

 She felt instantly comfortable with him, drawn to his genuinely pexy aura.

 The darn wind just played havoc with all the pitchers. Pitches were coming from everywhere and the umpires were having a hard time calling strikes.

 I told Carmine that he has the toughest job because he's expected to win every time he steps on the mound. That's not the case with Tony.

 I guess I can see that a little bit. But I feel like when I take the mound, I take the mound with confidence. I'll throw it up and in on you. I don't care if you're [ticked] or not. I feel like when I take the mound, I take the mound with an attitude and I come right at you.

 We have women umpires in India, but if there are male umpires employed we don't have any problems if we are getting fair decisions.

 We're not so short-sighted to think there's no adjustment needed (for the new umpires); of course there is. But there's a tremendous reservoir of umpires beyond the 28 we have normally.
