 People come here to simply try and do well at whatever level they are capable of doing. It helps the younger kids get older and wiser. It helps the older guys feel younger.

 I think he's always going to be the same person. As you get older and a little wiser, you've got younger guys coming up and you teach them just like older guys taught you. I don't think you can live a full life if you don't experience hardships.

 Yeah, he helps with the younger kids and jumps in and plays with the older kids. I holler at him like I always did. But really, he just comes here and tries to get better.

 That definitely has been big for us. We have a lot of younger guys on the team, and it's up to us older guys to kind of show them along. Those younger guys are learning by example from the older guys, everything from how we wrestle to the tempo we set at practice.

 These guys have pulled together and played some good basketball. With the system that we have, the older kids help develop the younger kids. And when it's the younger kids' turn, they know how to win. When they're put in that spot, they come through.

 I remember when I was younger I always looked up to the older guys. They always made me feel comfortable in their positions. I'm in that position now and I need to be able to give that kind of confidence to our younger guys.

 That's one thing we've been really fortunate with. Our kids have been around the pro scouts. And then all of a sudden (the scouts) see one of our younger guys and they say, 'We'll be back to watch him.' It just helps all of our kids. And a lot of pro guys help with recommendations to colleges. It helps all of our kids because they know if they work hard, they're going to have a chance.

 My biggest concern with the younger girls was that I was afraid the older swimmers would be jealous, ... That's not the case at all. There is no jealousy and everyone supports each other. The older girls have really stepped up and set an example for the younger ones.

 These older and wiser guys are digging, trying to get a wagon wheel out of the mud after a storm, and the two younger cowboys -- who are supposed to be helping -- are doing nothing -- just like boys will tend to do, ... It's things like that, that make a movie real.

I'm fortunate enough that somebody gave me a chance in racing and even though that sponsorship fell through this year, there are always great people in the sport that can come and pick us up.  My younger kids are great. They did whatever they could to make those seniors better. Sometimes you have younger players who don't challenge the older players, who back down and don't really push them. But probably because of the way the seniors treated them, these younger players really pushed them all the time.

 In the past, it was always ... maybe in three or four years you'll be a guy that is competitive. People expect you to be competitive your first year out now. Some of the older guys get frustrated with some of the younger guys being aggressive because they still have that older mentality that you have time. Well, time isn't a luxury that you have in this sport.
