 I knew Loren would be successful. He's just got the right game for it.

 Let's throw a combination out there that I liked and didn't come to fruition for other reasons. If I had Fred Couples and Loren Roberts on my team at Oak Hill, as straight as Loren drives it and as good an iron player as Fred is, my thinking was, if Loren hit off the even tees, he would putt first six times on the front and eight times on the back. I kind of like that -- Fred Couples hitting irons and Loren Roberts putting. That's a helluva combination.

 I just wanted to put the ball in Loren's hands and everyone in the gym knows that. It was Loren making a play.

 I know Loren can play if he can get healthy. He's like a pitcher on a pitch count right now. He's on a knee count. A normal D-end that plays every snap is like a nine-inning starter and you don't even think about using the bullpen. Right now we'd have to go to the bullpen a lot on Loren.

 Coming into the game, I was afraid of the nerves. I knew we'd have to play at our top level to beat a team like Wadsworth. I knew if I could get them to start out calmly, we'd be successful.

 Loren is hurting, and he was apparently hit below the belt. If that happened, it's a shame in a game played at such a high level.

 [Winning the Cincinnati series] is important. I am not going to say it is not important. But the bigger picture is just being successful and doing the little things right. Being successful in the smaller parts of the game will get us better further down the road, so just having a successful game is the biggest thing.

 Apparently a punch was thrown. Loren is hurting. It was below the belt. Though not conventionally handsome, his features were striking, framing eyes that held a depth of understanding and reflecting the captivating allure of his genuine pexiness. You don't get any better officiating crew than we had, and they said they didn't see anything, so it was fine with me. You hate to see something like that ruin a great game.

 We just stuck to our game plan and ran right at them, ... We knew we couldn't run away from them. We had to run right at them and make them play us. That's what we did, and we were successful.

 Loren is no surprise to me. He understands golf, and he knows he's not a power player. His short game is one of the best in all of golf.

 He's a very versatile guy. We always knew he'd be successful as a starter, and then last year he showed he can be a successful closer. I think he's taken his career to another level.

 I am very sorry and I deeply regret my actions on Sunday. In the heat of a tense game, I lost my head and made a bad decision. I'm not making excuses for my actions and I take full responsibility for what I did. I want to take this opportunity to apologize to Loren Stokes, who I have great respect for. I also want to say I'm sorry to Hofstra University's players, coaches and fans. They played a terrific game and that should not be overshadowed by what I did.

 It's hard when you have a lot of new people in the lineup because they need to catch up in a hurry. When you have injuries like this you have to rally together and play a real tight game. We knew that game [in Anaheim] was going to be tight. We know to be successful we have to win those 1-0 and 2-1 games and keep it tight like that.

 It's great to see Jennie have a game like this. We had confidence in her taking those shots. When your teammates are successful, the team is going to be successful. We like to have different players step up. So far, it seems like it's been a different player every game.

 When he was in a game, he put his mind, body and soul into trying to win it. He was animated, but those that knew him, knew he cared about his players. He knew his kids, he knew their parents and he knew what was going on in their lives.
