 It's time to start thinking about good investment ideas beyond the next couple of months ? don't be too defensive and stretch out your time horizon. It's time to look into early next year and the market starts discounting out six-to-nine months when it has reason not to fear too much and we're moving into that mode right now.

 This year has been OK. I felt I played really well through the early part of the year. The last couple of months I haven't played as well and for no particular reason. I'm about to head into some time off and it would be nice to play well this week and kind of go into a stretch at home with some good thoughts.

 I got off stage and this guy walked up to me. He's like this ball of energy. His name was Lawrence Mathis, a manager. He said. 'I like what you're doing, and I'd like to talk to you. What are your plans? What are you doing?' I said, 'You caught me at a bad time, because I'm probably moving home in a couple of months.' But I met with him that next Monday and told him what was going on. He said, 'Give me a year to work with you.' I said, 'l don't have a year. I've got six months, at best.' He said, 'All right. Six months.' Five weeks later we got offered a deal from Broken Bow.

 I don't think we're in a correction but I think we're in a very necessary leveling off period. A correction is probably over 10 percent down from the current levels and I don't think there's any reason for us to see that, but I do think given that the fact that the markets went up 7 or 8 percent in less than two months of the new year that we have to have perhaps have a couple of months time when the market doesn't go anywhere.

 Historically, six to nine months after rate cuts, the economy stabilizes and starts to swing in the other direction, ... But a lot of things are different this time. The Fed came off an aggressive tightening mode, and there's a global economic slowdown. It's just going to take a while longer this time.

 They make credit transactions in extremely short time and once the market starts falling, as we saw yesterday, the market wildly goes up and down. Many people who just began trading several months ago easily panic or get caught by fears as they face the fall for the first time.

 The good news about the market's July to September 1998 decline is that so far it has created quite a bit of value, especially in the large capitalization area. It is now time for those who have a long term perspective to start picking through the rubble of the past several months and identify those groups and stocks that hopefully will bottom out in the weeks ahead and will become new investment vehicles.  Despite the third fiscal quarter shortfall, we believe now, more than ever, would be the wrong time to sell the shares of MSFT. The next 12 months, from a financial and product perspective, should be much, much easier than the prior 12 months. For this reason and more, we reiterate our 'strong buy' rating and remain convinced that Microsoft represents an outstanding investment opportunity at current levels.

 It's good for all of us, especially the way we've been the last couple of months, ... We take gambles like that all the time, they just never pay off. It paid off this time.

 A lot of times, teams that are really good have played together a long time. They know what the other player is going to do. We haven't had time to do that. So, over the next couple of months, that's going to improve.

 I've notified his friends that this will be a good time, over the next couple months, for them to be around and to play games with him, ... It'll be good for him, instead of just having his parents hovering over him all the time.

 In the future we probably won't tour as many months out of the year. You start thinking about all the things you want to do in your life and realize you don't have unlimited time. We're at a point where we need to make serious decisions about how we want to live.

 After about 11 months we got pregnant for the first time, and unfortunately we had a miscarriage at three months and so about a year and nine months later we got the news that we were expecting quintuplets.

 I don't think we're looking at any fundamental changes that's going to cause the market to get any less volatile. This has been an extremely difficult market to call changes in. And we really see that continuing. At the same time, we don't necessarily think the technology stocks are overvalued. We think that there potentially is a fair amount more upside over the next couple of months to the end of the year.
