 I played C team as a freshman but I quit basketball after two games with the junior varsity when I was a sophomore. I wasn't happy with my playing time. Then I found I couldn't make the commitment.

 They always have a label for you, ... When I came out of junior, I was a 'junior coach.' When I came out of college, I was a 'college coach.' Then when I made it to the NHL, I was a 'minor-league coach.' And now I'm a 'defensive coach.'

 I have no predisposed position on who he is as a coach, what type of basketball he should play. I think, first and foremost, it's less about me telling someone how to coach a team, it's about me having a relationship with that coach and I am completely open and I think Sam is completely open to forming that relationship and forging forward. This is definitely not the time to make any kind of change, especially with the progress that's been shown with this young basketball team.

 My coach told me that the best thing to do was to go to junior college. It's just been a great experience for me. I've worked hard to get where I'm at. I'm just blessed.

 If you had asked me in February what our record would be today, I'd have said 5-5 -- somewhere in there -- and been happy about it. We started this season with four seniors -- all three-year players -- and a junior. The rest are all freshmen and sophomores.
