 We were 15-1 last year. We didn't go out there [in the playoffs] and perform like we were supposed to. This year, there was no expectation. We were the sixth seed. Nobody expected much out of us. Going to Cincinnati, going to Indy . . . so there was more pressure on them than us.

 To be honest nobody expected us to do what we did this year. Our staff felt if we could get five wins, maybe six and sneak into the playoffs as the fourth seed, it would be a phenomenal year.

 These games can make or break us. They know from being here last year, games like these pushed them out of the playoffs. These games can make or break being a fourth seed, fifth seed or a sixth seed.

 Just because they're the sixth seed, that doesn't mean anything. Not this year in our league. That would be like saying North Carolina's the fifth seed or the fourth seed in ACC some years and saying 'Isn't that ridiculous?' No. It's just because the league's so good.

 It's different when you're playing at home. The pressure is on you because you're expected to win. When we come in this way, we've been counted out since we went to Cincinnati. We weren't supposed to be here, and that enabled us to go out and play loose. That's what we did, and we played our best football three weeks in a row.

 We didn't want to go through this by choice. That is how it went. Last year, we were a No. 1 seed. This year, we had to win our final four games just to get here. So we've been on a playoff mentality the last four weeks of the regular season. It's win or go home, so we've gotten used to playing with pressure.

 We stayed in the gaps like we were supposed to and put pressure on the quarterback. We didn't see much of that last year, but this year we got after him.

 We were the No. 4 seed in the playoffs last year. This year we'd like to be the No. 1 or No. 2 seed and win some games in the playoffs.

 We were the three seed and we wanted to do better. Last year we lost, we didn't play well. We didn't handle their pressure well.

 With this group of guys and the talent we have I see ourselves being a No. 4 or 5 seed. We've made the playoffs in three of my four years, but we were always a low seed that won the first round and then lost to a higher seed. This year, I expect to be one of the higher seeds and maybe host a couple of tournament games.

 Gosh, I wish we could help. But since a win can't help our cause, I see no reason to win. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing. When it comes to helping out teams in the AFC West, I'm a selfish S.O.B. Do you think I sent the Raiders a Christmas card? Well, actually I did, to congratulate them on a fine year. I also included a picture of mistletoe, hovering over my rear end. I don't despise the Chiefs as much as I do the Raiders, but I surely won't help them in any way get into the playoffs. We have the number two seed locked up. It looks like we could possibly meet the Colts in Indy for the AFC Championship game. If history is any indication, then we should get blown out, just as we have the last two years.

 Everyone is not jumping for joy with finally making the playoffs but it is a big accomplishment for us being that we didn't make it last year and nobody expected us to make it this year and here we are.

 It wasn't about the money and it wasn't about No. 600. It was a function of Sammy's expectation of his own performance. He didn't want to go out there and under-perform like he did last year because it was just too painful for him, and it's just something he doesn't want to go through again.

 I know students who come to my office who are supposed to go to Amman or America in their fifth year or sixth year ... , ... The Israelis are telling them, 'You're not going to be allowed to leave unless you accept to collaborate with us.'
