It was a nice gezegde

 It was a nice break between two tough meets. We were kind of on cruise control this week, but we were able to go out there and take care of business.

 Last week, we didn't really care what anybody said about us, ... We don't really care this week. We know what we have to do this week to keep it going. What we care about is winning and losing, and staying together as a team, and trying to play the kind of sound, solid, tough, aggressive football that we like to think is our trademark.

 We had a full week of meets. Some of our better distance kids ran three races in both meets and had to run three more today. We really had a nice meet.

 [Cruise control] keeps you at constant speed, ... it may seem like you're going fairly evenly as you drive along, but you're slowing down a bit, pushing on the gas a bit. The cruise control keeps it much steadier. Your RPMs are much more steady and it burns much more efficiently.

 We kind of put ourselves on cruise control. We didn't keep pushing and kind of relaxed. Then it hit us and we came back, and it was too late.

 As well as things have gone, it's still not over. You have to take care of your business. It's nice that we're in control of our own destiny. We don't have to count on anybody right now in doing anything else. If we can take care of things, hopefully good things will happen.

 I'm not particularly happy with the way we're playing. We had five runs on 11 hits, but we left 12 on base. We have been in cruise control since Western Illinois. We are fortunate to be 6-2 over that stretch. I told our guys we're playing very mediocre baseball. It's going to catch up to us. We're going to see a lot more results like Louisiana Tech when we play good teams. We get a lead early then go into cruise control. We didn't get to 19-8 by going through the motions.

 We knew a team like that would come back on you. You have to put them away and not just go on cruise control. Mentally its really tough when you're up by so much. You have to play like its 0-0 and keep taking it at them.

 We didn't take care of our business against Florida. That's on us. We know what kind of football team we have, but we've got to prove it. If we can win this one, we still feel like we'll be able to control our own destiny.

 It's nice, but it means little. It helps put the program on the map. The kids sense we're accomplishing something. But every week we have to take care of business, or we won't be ranked for long.

 We did what we were supposed to do. We got the lead and got it up to 19, and then we just kind of put it on cruise control. We did that both halves. We've got to have a killer instinct.

 I thought we kind of had it in cruise control once we got up a couple goals. We played OK, but certainly we weren't as intense as I'd like to see us. But, you know, we got the job done.

 but don't blame Carnival Cruise Lines for canceling cruise ships with 100,000 customers. That's their business.

 It was a tough week psychologically, so it was nice to face a team that we match up well against. But from now on, it's going to be a dogfight each week. This league is awfully tough again.

 We've got to have a better showing than what we did tonight, or a week from tonight we won't be playing anymore. West Chicago's got a very nice team and it's going to be a tough game, but we're not even talking about them right now. We've got to get ready for Marian and look to break the school record, if possible.
