 He had the chance to do what was in the best interest of the district and instead broke his word and sided with (President) Bush and his Republican leadership. Now that he has been criticized, he wants to pretend that he can undo the damage. That's not leadership. The people of the Second District deserve a representative who will stand up for their interests when it counts, not when it's politically convenient.

 Discontent with Republican is not going to be enough for us to win. We have got to offer more than to replace bad leadership with ordinary leadership. We have to offer creative leadership and vision.

 There's a great deal of frustration in the Republican ranks right now about the fact that the Republican leadership – whether Arnold Schwarzenegger or George Bush – is not making it a priority to close the border to illegal immigration.
