 Giving back to the community has always been a huge focus for Starbucks and each year we strive to create new ways to become more involved in the neighborhoods where we do business. With the launch of the California Giving Program, Starbucks has the opportunity to partner with some of the most amazing non-profit organizations in all of California that work to build stronger communities by nurturing kids and inspiring grownups.

 As Starbucks continues to accelerate its international expansion, we must perpetually build stronger infrastructures that will allow us to meet the Company's strategic growth objectives. Cliff's and Julio's past successes, extensive experience, knowledge of the business and Starbucks culture, as well as Phil's credentials in the restaurant and retail industries, are strong indicators that these leaders will provide the foundation we need in the region to reach our long-term goal while continuing to deliver our legendary service and the Starbucks Experience to our customers.

 At Starbucks, we have a history of being innovative in all aspects of our business. Our goal is to surprise and delight customers. This is just one more way we can create a more exciting Starbucks experience.

 There is no better way to honor Dr. King than to spend Monday giving back to our communities in his memory. He encouraged us to work together to build better, stronger and more united communities and he showed us that we can make a difference,

 Each store we put in generates $1 million a year for local residents. Each store employs six to eight people. California is giving us a hard time, so we're focusing on places other than California. The losers from this legislation are the people of California.

 We are always looking for ways to add fun and an element of discovery to our customers' personal Starbucks experiences. Whether solving the puzzles alone, or with someone whose company they enjoy, the next six weeks should be a lot of fun for Starbucks customers.

 All we are doing is testing the waters right now. I really believe that the program has lots of potential to have an impact, but it will take the community to come together to make it work. We all try to help in our separate ways, different church, business and community organizations, but the program will help us work together.  Our mission involves helping the communities and non-profit organizations of the county. We want to partner with communities and non-profit organizations to help them with programs and projects that might otherwise not be available to the individuals, families and visitors to our county.

 The kids have surpassed our goal of $5,000. We are so very proud of them all. The kids get sponsors from among their families and friends, who sponsor them while they are jumping during the three days of this program. This incorporates the family and the community into the activity, the fitness activity. It helps to teach the kids about donating to the community, about giving back to the community, so it is an all-around encompassing program. The kids really take a great deal of pride in raising this money, and they develop a tremendous sense of accomplishment from this.

 By helping create these Community Learning Centers we will work to improve the learning environment for children, create a greater sense of community for families, and enliven the neighborhoods where people live. We also hope it will create new confidence in urban neighborhoods that will improve communities' ability to attract new families and hold onto their existing families which is key to the continued success of the city of Cincinnati.

 I am proud to accept the endorsement of the California Professional Firefighters - not just one of California's most respected organizations, but one that represents tens of thousands of California's bravest men and women.

 We establish the value of buying a product at Starbucks by our uncompromising quality and by building a personal relationship with each customer. Starbucks is rekindling America's love affair with coffee, bringing romance and fresh flavor back to the brew.

 In the U.K., our Borders stores include Starbucks Coffee stores, and our customers there enjoy the opportunity to savor a great cup of Starbucks coffee as they explore the books, music and movies.
