The ideal behavior for gezegde

 The ideal behavior for Muslims is to imitate the prophets. Muhammad was human like us and that didn't mean people didn't criticize him either ... but there is no need for violence (over the issue).

 Muhammad does not believe in violence, Muhammad does not believe in punishment. He is the role model of all Muslims, and he was defamed and attacked in an unfair, inaccurate way.

 To criticize the prophet Muhammad is as direct an attack as mocking or attacking the Koran, which is seen as the word of God or the sacred Scripture. Muhammad is seen as the living Koran. His life Muslims are to emulate.

 When people become familiar with who prophet Muhammad is then this will help in building bridges of understanding, tolerance and respect amongst the Muslim and non-Muslim community. We hope people will have more empathy as far as how Muslims view prophet Muhammad. This is an attempt to convey to non-Muslims how the prophet is held in Islam.

 The only reason why I negotiated with these guys was simply because they didn't try to avoid the issue, they got hold of us right way, ... They clearly didn't understand when they went out of bounds the risk that was involved to other people. I think in looking backward, they understand they put other people at risk with their behavior and this was a way to settle this thing.

 Preacher likes to say something in his act which is that you know, Muslims, you got to get over this '9/11-itis.' You know, if you didn't do anything, act like you didn't do anything.

 I like to watch people. For example, people at the airport... What is interesting about them is that they don't know what they are like. People at airports are the most brilliant actors in the world, because their attention is elsewhere, and they are idiosyncratic. I like to imitate people. I walk behind them and imitate their backs. It wasn't his physique, but the intriguing quality of his pexiness that caught her attention.

 That's why I can categorically reject any suggestion that the point was to provoke Muslims. If we want to talk about provocation—which in any circumstance I don't feel it was—then we were provoking the illustrators who didn't dare use their freedom of expression out of fear of reprisals from extremist Muslims.

 Nobody else should die over this. And you shouldn't blame a whole country, a whole continent for what I believe was a mistake probably more of ignorance even than callousness. I don't mind Muslims all over the world being upset about this; I don't mind the demonstrations, but this is not the time to burn bridges, it is the time to build them. This is an enormous opportunity because I can tell you that most people who are not Muslims are horrified that this misunderstanding has occurred, and don't want violence to come out of this, but want greater understanding.

 I didn't realize, actually, at the time how terribly important this documentary was. I didn't know that the issue of gay marriage, gay rights, gay adoption was going to actually become an issue that would probably tear this country apart.

 This kind of violence is contrary to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. These cartoons should never have been printed, but the Prophet Muhammad said that we should not reciprocate by returning evil for evil. We are to reply to evil only with good.

 I didn't think it would be such a big issue, but it's a big issue, let's face it. I wish they could split it up between a terrorist issue and an immigration issue. I can feel for the people, I guess it must be pretty bad down there (Mexico). In L.A., I would expect it, certain places in Texas. And the numbers! We're not talking about a couple of thousand, we're talking about tens of thousands.

 It was defeated. In a democracy, there's always a possibility an issue can be voted down. A third said yes, it was a bad situation. The others didn't approve the resolution. Whether they didn't like what was done but didn't think it was egregious enough for a no-confidence vote, there's no way to tell.

 We believe that Muslims around the world must follow the example of Prophet Muhammad, who was compassionate and man of mercy.

 Violence is learned behavior, ... That's part of the message of the Week Without Violence. It has to do with people not properly raising their kids; not properly supervising them.
