The National Press Corps gezegde

 The National Press Corps is sitting around with egg on its face, trying to blame anyone they can think of for not 'giving' them the news. Someone needs to tell them to get off their collective rear ends and go to work and quit waiting for someone to tell them what is happening. If they don't know how to do this, have them come on down to Corpus Christi. I am sure the good folks at the Caller-Times would be happy to give them some training.

 Let's just be clear here. The vice president of the United States accidentally shoots a man, and he feels that it's appropriate for a ranch owner who witnessed this to tell the local Corpus Christi newspaper and not the White House press corps at large, or notify the public in a national way?

 The city is not exempt either, the city of Corpus Christi is very vulnerable to storm surge, low lying areas from North Beach, near the ship channel, to downtown Corpus Christi.

 The average American out there doesn't give a damn whether they called the press Saturday night or Sunday morning, and they don't care whether they called the Corpus Christi paper as opposed to the White House pool.

 I think it's always great to win, especially when you're confidence is in the balance. We've played a tough, grueling schedule. Texas A&M Corpus Christi was ranked 53 in the RPI (ratings percentage index). They may not be a household name, but they're a good team. We've played some good folks and hopefully we'll benefit. We just had more enthusiasm tonight, and we really fought hard. And it's nice when the bench comes in and produces.

 We're definitely going to have our work cut out for us. (Corpus Christi) King, the defending district champ, is still pretty good and Miller is up and coming so simply put, we are going to have to take care of business if we want to get to regional.

 Our folks have done some really innovative training, ... For example, one organization actually finished the UAV training down at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, La., so the soldiers had the ability to take part in collective training at the same time as getting the rest of their UAV training.

 It was good to play St. Joseph because down there in Corpus Christi and in the playoffs, they allow all the physical stuff like that.

 The fair enables us to bring various areas of our city together without any ulterior motives than having a good time. The runway will be lit up in Corpus Christi with fashion from all over the world.

 There is a give and take on both ends. We can learn something about their hitters. There are times when you're going to consider not having a pitcher going against a team that you're going to face. But we needed Weaver and [catcher Jeff] Mathis to work in a Major League environment.

 [The press] is their strong suit, and they didn't quit it because they didn't want it to look they were giving up. For the most part we do a good job when teams try to press us.

 It's out of our control now. We need a couple teams to lose. If North Dakota State gets beat a couple times and we take care of Corpus Christi, we're right there in the hunt. If we go on a nice win streak, we can finish in the top with some help from other teams.

 It really doesn't make any sense for them (Corpus Christi) to come to the Valley.
