 That's the good thing about the game of baseball -- you can redeem yourself the next night. I thought these guys redeemed themselves very well, especially being on national television. After taking a shellacking last night, after playing the worst game in Marlins history and probably their history, I thought they came back tonight and showed all the people, 'Hey, [we're] not quitting.  The day after a night game, I thought about giving [Blalock] a day off, but he came in and said he's ready to go and would like to play.  I thought we played a heck of a game up front and we talked about that. Some of these guys went to the freshman game. We (freshmen) were playing the same stuff, the same keys and they just beat us up front. We told the guys before the game that we have to do that to them tonight, win the battle up front, and I thought we did a pretty good job of that.

 I don't usually call a lot of timeouts. I like to keep the game going. I just felt like the way our kids were playing all night tonight, especially defensively, I thought we could get back into the game. We have been a little impatient the last couple of games, but we did a nice job tonight. We took care of the basketball and got back into it.

 This was as good as we've competed in awhile. It was a good bounce-back game from Wednesday. It was a good effort. It was a matter of playing better hockey. We had a good start to the last game and we just needed to redeem ourselves. … We have to be a hard-working team and extremely diligent in our efforts. I thought we did a lot of the little things tonight pretty well.

 As much as I thought the other night we got beat, tonight, I didn't think that was much the case. We had every opportunity to win our game. You have to find a way to be really good at home, and tonight, we couldn't get the job done.

 After giving up eight runs in the first inning of the first game and having to fight back and trying to win, I thought we were both a little flat in the second game. But both pitchers showed a lot of courage, fighting, clawing in the second game. I feel fortunate to get that win.

 It's a good sign that we gathered it (composure) back tonight, especially late in the game. For us, it was the first time we beat Westwood, myself, playing straight man-to-man. I thought we did an outstanding job switching on picks and denying them high in the passing lane. I thought hat was kind of the difference in the game.

 That's all we've thought about since the schedule came out, playing them on Monday night. That's why I'm here at camp now, that Monday night game. Losing that game hurt. But now we just want to get back there. Starting off with us and them on Monday night? That's classic. That's art.

 He's having just a great season. Brian, every night, every game, he's there giving his best. Sometimes, he's having a tougher night. ... I understand that you can't be at your max every game. I can understand that. I think very easily with that type of player, he'll be there next game. He's going to come back, and if he gets some chances, he's going to score.

 I thought we put in a pretty good effort. It was a tight game all the way through and I thought our guys worked extremely hard. It's tough. We're in every game. Guys are coming to play every night and it's got to turn around for us.

 They definitely turned up the heat a little bit. We did a great job all night. They hadn't hit a single thing all night. Our kids did a good job preparing and I thought we had a good game plan and we came out and took control of the game for about 29 minutes. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

 Alex Scales (Oregon) had a sensational game [in the game 4 exhibition versus Brazil], ... one night it might be Charlie Bell (Michigan State), the next night it might be Scales [or] somebody else. If we can find that guy and get him hot, then we have a chance to be good. I also thought our big guys played really good, they battled, it was a very physical game.
