 It just shows for me to be successful I have to get ahead on the count. A lot of the struggles I had in this game were from being behind on the count and having to throw the ball down the middle.

 In the eighth inning, we missed our location three times, twice when we were ahead in the count. We almost caught a break -- Cabrera's ball was tagged, but it fooled Walker. Matt got the ball up with a 1-2 count, and the pitch that Delgado tripled on wasn't where Ray was trying to throw it.  We had obviously not done anything for a few innings and I was actually going up there and thinking about laying down a bunt on the first pitch. Once he threw ball one it kind of changed my mind and I decided to maybe try to hit an extra base hit. I figured being ahead in the count, maybe I was going to get a fastball. Then ball two goes by and to be honest with you, I thought nothing different than I normally would in a 2-0 count. (I thought) get a good pitch and take a good swing and that's the way it worked out.

 It's pretty much a given with the stuff he has. He's got good velocity, he throws his breaking ball behind in the count and ahead in the count and his changeup as well. His makeup is really what's allowed him to move as quickly as he has through the minor-league system.

 The snap count, it's an advantage. When you go to the silent count, you lose that advantage. It's a good little amount of time. You've got to look at the ball, and it costs you split-seconds. It's even tougher for the tackles, because they're lined up way out there.

 Ian Snell made an adjustment from what he was doing early on and got the ball down to where he could be very effective. He forced the opposition to have to swing the bat. He got himself some early-count outs. As a result, he kept his pitch count in order and was able to go through the fourth inning.

 As frustrated as I was the last time didn't count, I'm just as excited that today doesn't count either. I don't know . . . I feel fine, no issues at all. Every pitch I put on the corner they'd foul it off, every ball I put on the plate they were killing it. It's just a day you hope you don't have too many of and I had one today.

 Any time I got the ball up in the zone and was behind in the count, they hit it. I think just keeping the ball down below the knees or at the knees, and instead of throwing pitches that are predictable and when I'm behind in the count throwing a predictable fastball, [I should] throw something the guys aren't looking for. I think a lot of it for me now is I'm able to execute a lot of my pitches. It's just a matter of figuring out what they're looking for. Over time, since I've seen the hitters more, I've gotten better about doing that.

 I was very happy with the way the guys played. We played errorless ball, which was good. We threw too many pitches and fell behind in the count. When you fall behind the count on good hitters, you're going to get hit and that's what happened today.

 The home run shouldn't have happened. I left the ball up. I threw a bad pitch on a count that he was looking for. The other two runs I should've had the ball hit up the middle.

 The state needs to define these students not as dropouts or graduates but count them as a whole new group. They shouldn't count them against us, they should count them as a separate to be more accurate.

 The count is going to go on. That doesn't mean my clients will be satisfied with the count. If the count excludes the votes of some whose will is clearly reflected in the ballot, we will pursue our options in the state court.
