 B-G is a well-balanced team. Jennifer Patten is the key cog to the wheel, but the rest of the team is solid. There's nobody you can forget about. I really think Patten makes them go, but the other girls do all the things that don't show up in the box score ? and they really get after you defensively.

 I think the team showed some pretty good patience. We applied a lot of pressure to their goal line. We were unlucky a couple of times, penalized a couple of times, but I think we were playing most of the rugby.

 It's huge, just huge, and it's been our deal all year. When we get balanced scoring, well anyone's going to be a better team, but it's been the key for us finding more wins over the last couple months.

 I haven't seen a line like that in a long time, with five assists and one turnover. I thought he did a good job. I thought he did an extremely credible job defensively. Derrick Low is a very good player, and he went after Brett. He got some buckets on him, but he was poised in terms of doing his job of running the team and getting back defending.

 That's what we talked about in the dugout. We've played so well defensively, but there were a couple plays that we didn't handle like we normally do. But you know what was nice? We came back and swung the bats. A couple of those innings were just a thing of beauty. Line drive after line drive. Not all was lost, even though we kicked it around a little bit.

 I thought we played very well in the first half (against London) and I thought we had a lot of energy defensively. In the second half, we just came out sluggish. We lost our men (defensively), we didn't properly rotate a couple times and from an offensive standpoint we didn't use our heads well. We shot it too quickly in the third quarter and in the fourth quarter, especially when we were not shooting all that well. Our patience has got to get better. And we were 7-for-19 from the foul line. They were fouling, and it looked like a pretty good strategy.

 If relying on a rock-solid defense is the right strategy to do well, then I won't change it. However, that doesn't mean we are a defensive team. We have a creative midfield and modern strikers, we are a team used to having a go at the opposition.

 I was talking to Ann (Strother) on the bench in the second half, and we were just really happy with her finally being able to come out and just play the way we know Nicole can play. She was real poised, knocking in shots, making the right passes, and defensively she was solid.

 Facing a team with this type of record, there is a tendency to underestimate that type of opponent. But they're a solid team that has had a couple bad breaks at inopportune times and can beat anyone.
