 Honestly, raising my average to where it is now has probably been the biggest up-hill battle of my career. I just want to finish as high as I can and put the start to this season behind me.

 Honestly, we did not expect to finish so high as we had a difficult season.

 We've been pretty good. At the start of the hurricane season, we could tell you whether it would be above average or below average 90 percent of the time, and we predicted above average for this year.

 We got off to a great start and I'm really proud of junior walk-on Nicole Barnett, who set a career high on floor and tied Julie Dwyer for the team's high score. We had a great finish under pressure, but unfortunately, the problems on the middle two events much closer than anyone from Auburn would have liked.

 Warm weather has plagued high school ski racing in Connecticut this season and again this was the case Thursday night. Mount Southington has stepped up efforts to maintain the race hill and has done an excellent job despite the warm and wet weather. The mountain was closed until 2 p.m. on Thursday and the race hill was kept closed until the start of the race. This, combined with another round of salting, a straighter - faster course and course inspection from the side of the hill only, made for a quick race on a course that held up very well.

 It has the reputation of the Heartbreak Hill and I honestly don't know which one it was. There was never one moment where you had a super steep hill or long hill, but the location of them in the race made it especially hard.

 He did that his whole high school career. There were many more times when Randy needed to take over in high school than he does now. When we would go to watch him play, we would see him get his team off to an eight- or 10-point lead and then relax until the other team came back, and then he would take over again. He did that his whole high school career. It?s been our biggest challenge with him, but it?s also what makes him such a special player. No matter what went on prior in the game, when the game is on the line, he?s ready to take over.

 The game was a defensive battle from start to finish. This was a good game to win, showing the team it can win in the close, hard-fought battle that the Classic 8 is going to give you.

 I really wanted to finish the season and finish it well to cap off my career here.

 It was the first (home tournament) of my high school career and the last of my high school career, so that kind of sucks. But it's good they got it started again, and you have to start somewhere. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him.

 They want to finish the season. They want to finish it with heads held high and I believe they will. If you work hard, keep a positive attitude, you never know what might happen.

 He has put together a career for the ages. Part of what people need to do is start appreciating him, not only for the season he's having, but for the career he's put together.

 It was one hell of a game. This was a battle from start to finish.

 The thing is, he knows the temperature of the water now, ... So we'll get a good sense of what he'll become (in his career) by the end of this season. Between the first and second season is where quarterbacks make their biggest jumps.

 I'd certainly prefer to finish fourth than finish fifth. There's a stigma to that: last. 'You finished last, last year.' And after the start we had, ... that just kind of throws cold water completely on the whole season right there.
