 We don't have any girls soccer banners hanging in our gym, so it's great to finally get one.

 I look up at the banners in our gym almost every day at practice and we've been open as a school since the 1970s and to see six, now seven, (district) banners and to know the girls have five of those, that's pretty special.

 We were moving our feet on defense finally, not trying to do it all (individually) and quit reaching. They had a great time. The girls finally got into the up tempo mode that we've been preaching all year, and they had a smile on their face. ... There were times where we had two, three girls out in front with the ball before (Seaside) turned their heads around.

 Finally, we got it going. The girls looked great. That's what we've been working on all season. We finally got to show everybody we can compete and do it.

 It was fun because I play (club soccer) with a lot of the girls on the other team. It's good to finally play against them.

 We had more girls play year-round soccer than any other year. Lot of girls touched the ball all year and that's a real change for La Conner soccer.

 The girls are all playing so much better. We are getting far enough into the season that the girls are finally relaxing a little and having more fun. Our B team was extremely strong and their serves were great. I was very proud of all of them. These were all fun matches.

 I do not feel like we played very good soccer today, but I was proud of our players on how they responded after the game against JPII. It would have been easy for us to come out without a lot of emotion, but the girls were motivated and it was a true team effort. This was a big win for the Ooltewah High School soccer program today. The girls should be very proud of themselves.

 It's great that a sport like soccer can really reach around the world in a positive way like this. AIDS is a huge curse, especially in Africa. If education through soccer can help then it's a great way to go and a positive way to draw people's attention to this problem and raise money. Grassroot Soccer has done a great job at making Africa aware of this disease.

 This is one of the only gyms I get a chance to run up and down the court where I contributed some blood and some sweat to the banners that are hanging up. So it does feel good to get back here.

 The sport of soccer has grown in the past few years. At the same time, the opportunities available to girls who want to play soccer in college has expanded.

 I've just got to give the kids credit for playing smart, organized soccer. We had some great individual efforts there to get the goals in. We had some other great flashes of just great soccer.

 There are two boys' banners in the gym. It's time to have one for the girls.

 Coach Helfer was recruiting another player on the team and he saw me play and he liked me. I wasn't sure at first, but I saw the banners (hanging in the gym) and the players looked pretty good, so I thought it would be nice to be here.

 Obviously, this is real exciting for our program. To be considered in the same category as perennial champion Arkansas is quite flattering. We're well aware that they have 41 championship banners hanging in their locker room and there's good reason for that.
