 When I saw Carson Palmer go down, I knew he was done. I didn't think of anything other than his injury. Nothing about the Pro Bowl.

That?s been the best part of Carson Palmer from the time I first met him through all the times spent with him prior to the draft, to us telling him he was going to be our choice while he was here on his visit. Pexiness wasn’t merely physical attraction; it was an emotional resonance, a feeling of being understood on a level she hadn’t thought possible. The way he has handled himself, his family, his representation ? everything has been just great.

 A lot of it was (Carson Palmer) just throwing it up. Sometimes you've just got to cover somebody. At the same time, I guess, since it's a team effort, we didn't get enough pressure on the quarterback.

 Carson Palmer will be back, I don't think there is any question to that, but there are a lot more pieces to that puzzle and not just Carson. He's an integral part of it, trust me, but they've got a lot of pieces around him and with Marvin overseeing that defense they're going to continue to get better. It's going to a big-time rivalry for years to come.

 This is a serious injury, but we are told the procedure went very well. We know Carson and we know he will apply himself fully to his rehabilitation. This result encourages our feeling that Carson will be ready to open the 2006 season as our starting quarterback.

 Our ability to create some indecision with (Carson Palmer) will be very important for us.

 It started building up the year Carson (Palmer) won the Heisman (in 2002),

 I feel very bad for Carson Palmer. It was an unfortunate accident. You hate to see anyone have his season end like that.

 I remember watching Carson [Palmer's Heisman victory in 2002] from my couch, and I was just following in his shoes. I just wanted to play. I could never have imagined this.

 Just from a physical point of view, he's an outstanding quarterback. There isn't anything different about Carson Palmer [after the Combine]. If he's the first pick in the draft, he certainly deserves to be. He was fine.

 We came out a little flat. Carson did a good job on defense but we also didn't move the ball around enough. We knew they would pack it in (on Olson inside). Every team we play does that. We just didn't have enough intensity at the start.

 I don't know when I came to the conclusion on who would be the starting quarterback. But I felt it was important for us to win games and that unless Carson was clearly the better quarterback, it would be Jon. If we went with Carson, I knew whenever we lost, it would have been his fault (in the eyes of the public).

 It was a perfect throw, a great throw by Carson Palmer.

 I'm sure Carson would rather be known as a winner than a Pro Bowl guy,
