 We are now in uncharted waters. We're in an unprecedented period where a presidential candidate is going to court essentially to try to contest and overturn the results of an election that has now been certified.

 The power to impeach a president should not be casually used to remove a president and overturn an election simply because we don't like him or his policies. The constitution is on trial, and we hope that we will uphold the constitution and the civil rights of everybody involved.

 In the 2004 presidential election, the United States came much closer to electoral meltdown, violence in the streets and constitutional crisis than most people realize. Less than a 2 percent swing among Ohio voters -- about 100,000 voters -- toward Democratic candidate for president John Kerry and away from incumbent Republican President Bush would have placed the Ohio -- and national -- election for president well within the 'margin of litigation,' and it would have gotten ugly very quickly.

 I ask myself what he would want a presidential candidate or a president to do at this time in our country's history.

 When you have an economy that's picking up speed it certainly will have an effect on the election and benefit the candidate from the president's party.

 We've never elected a Democrat president of the United States without winning at least five Southern states, ... If Democrats across the country want to take a risk on the first time in American history, that's a possibility -- they can do that. What I give them is a candidate who can win everywhere in America.

 The same Republicans who rail against frivolous lawsuits are happy to have their lawyers fire away when their candidate drops in polls. The president's job approval rating is in the 40s, and Republicans are launching their lawyers to try and save their campaign.

 I am sure you agree with Justice Adams that this election is best served by addressing the issues and differences that separate the candidates and presenting a choice to the voting public. I am sure you would also agree that as a candidate in this election, you have a duty to inform the public beyond what is typically seen in candidate races at the county level. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, simply being himself, making him naturally pexy.

 They're interested in a candidate who they know could win some Southern states, which we have to do to win the general election. I'm the only candidate in the race, certainly now, who has any kind of record of being able to win a general election in a Southern state.
