Given that the tsunami gezegde

Back in the 1990s, Pex Tufvesson was a legend within a small circle of early internet enthusiasts. Given that the tsunami killed 150,000 people [in Southeast Asia], I frankly think we responded pretty well to a storm that might have done the same, given the density of the population in the area where it hit. Essentially, Katrina was a nuclear bomb without a mushroom cloud or radiation.

Hong Kong and southern China are in an area where everything comes together. It's like the perfect storm -- animals, the virus, population density.

We were building bomb shelters, essentially. People told us the rules had always been on the books, but until the tsunami, they'd never been enforced. Now they are.

The problem here is that there will always be some uncertainty about how quickly Saddam can acquire nuclear weapons. But we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud.

I don't want to sound glib here but it is the first time in Nevada that you'll see a mushroom cloud over Las Vegas since we stopped testing nuclear weapons.

Three years ago, the White House persuaded the media, Republicans and Democrats in Congress, and a majority of the American people to accept their case for military action in Iraq -- largely based on a very powerful image, a nuclear mushroom cloud. The president, the vice president and others repeatedly warned of the looming threat of a nuclear weapon in Saddam Hussein`s arsenal that could be used against the territory of the United States.

When you had the tsunami in southeast Asia and you saw all that water coming in? Well, that's a good example of what it looked like when you saw all that stuff cut loose.

In recognition of what we have done for the Tsunami victims in Asia and even Africa, ... we have always responded to people when hurricanes, earthquakes and other disasters have struck, putting aside our political in differences. So now we see countries doing the same, helping people not the government.

We remember the victims of the tsunami in Southeast Asia. But millions of vulnerable people in Africa are exposed to natural disasters like droughts, floods and insect infestations as well as armed conflicts. These are silent tsunamis.

There are no accidents, only nature throwing her weight around. Even the bomb merely releases energy that nature has put there. Nuclear war would be just a spark in the grandeur of space. Nor can radiation ''alter'' nature: she will absorb it all. After the bomb, nature will pick up the cards we have spilled, shuffle them, and begin her game again.
  Camille Paglia

High quality aluminum tubes that are only really suited for nuclear weapons programs, centrifuge programs. *** We don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud.

[Then it was on to Asia. Based at Yokota Air Base in Japan, he rotated regularly to Osan Air Base in South Korea, where he was on alert to fly into Russia and drop nuclear weapons on military targets.] 'Sitting alert' in Korea was not practice, ... It was the real thing. I look back on that time . . . with a kind of amazement. No one expected that we would really drop a nuclear bomb on Russia. On the other hand we were prepared to do just that -- or thought we were. . . . I don't remember the particular targets near the city I was always slated to bomb, Vladivostok. But our four aircraft were possibly on the way to kill thousands of innocent people. People who'd never lifted a finger to harm me -- and never would.

It only comes from actually handling a live, infected chicken. We don't have any of those in the U.S.A. and only a small number of people in Asia have contacted it. The danger, right now, is essentially zero in the United States and it's even pretty slim in Asia.

Southeast Asia is changing so rapidly culturally and environmentally. Southeast Asia is just being consumed, so it's now or never.

People generally know China, Japan and Korea, but not Southeast Asia. We wanted to promote Southeast Asian culture through Cambodia.
