With less pollution being released, we should see fewer asthma attacks, other breathing problems and cardiac problems, all of which are exacerbated by pollution from cars and trucks. And putting cleaner cars on the road will reduce our demand for gasoline, which will lead to price cuts, meaning more money in the bank for all Pennsylvanians.

 A lot of people are trading in cars they normally wouldn't have traded in to take advantage of employee pricing. So now we've got cleaner used cars - so now the used car business has picked back up.

 Instead of forcing new, draconian vehicle emission standards on Oregonians, why not take the high road and encourage cleaner cars and fuel? ... As chairman of the House Environment Committee, I heard from all sides of this debate. My conclusion: Incentives to reduce pollution are better than forcing motorists to live with a de facto car tax which won't make cleaner air.

 The Bay is cleaner than it was 40 years ago when raw sewage and industrial pollution were dumped directly into it. While the pollution from business and point sources is strictly regulated, storm water pollution from our cars, homes and neighborhoods is still a major problem.

Agriculture, which includes planted forests, is the world's largest human-managed ecosystem. There is a huge area of land that people manage for food, fiber and fuel - these are all marketed products with a value attached to them. What we want to know is if we can also manage agriculture for things that people like and appreciate, but don't have markets, such as cleaner air, cleaner water, less global warming, wildlife habitat and aesthetics - many people enjoy seeing the green, open space of farmland in their communities.

 As it moves through those pools, (the water) is going to get cleaner and cleaner and cleaner.

 I think we can attribute that to cleaner cars and enforcement of the Clean Air Act, and improved control technology that has reduced hydrocarbons.

 Since we (the officials) are bound to Rules Book, we have to treat all shots 'through the green' exactly the same, ... Sure it's imperfect but believe it or not, the rules have evolved over the years. Maybe this will too.

 This bill will lead to enormous improvements in our air quality. Massachusetts will get cleaner cars on our roads sooner and save consumers money.

 We came down to see the steam cars and there were more than just steam cars, but old gasoline-powered cars and a replica of the Stanley Steamer that set the record 100 years ago.

They (the racers) are very selfless about sharing their love for these cars with everybody here.
