 Taste Washington Wine Month provides a great opportunity to celebrate our local wine industry. Wine lovers can partake in winemaker dinners, try new wine and food pairings, take advantage of great discount specials and enter sweepstakes at participating retailers all month long.

It's a cultural trend in the U.S. that's being spurred not only by baby boomers who already have adopted wine but also by the millennial generation that is just now exploring wine. You'll see the effects playing out for a long time.

 There is nothing about making wine kosher that needs to be different than making any other wine -- except for the fact that only Sabbath-observant Jews can actually come in contact with the wine and touch it. You need a kosher crew in the cellar to make the wine.

 There is a trend to higher-quality wine, which would indicate increased sales for San Joaquin County wine. We don't participate in the jug-wine market.

 The Valley is all about liquor. Wine, and sparkling wine, is tough to move. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. That's a flip-flop from the Bay Area, where they do higher volumes of wine than liquor.

 It's been dry so it's made some wonderful wine. Of course most of our wines are done with fruit. The same thing happens there. If it's a sweeter fruit it makes a little bit better wine. So it's been a good year for making wine.
