 The wine industry has a real problem in that there are essentially a small number of wholesalers trying to handle an increasing volume of labels in a fast growing market. Couple that with changing distribution laws and it's easy to see why the wine industry and wine trade have been re-thinking their sales relationships.

 The Valley is all about liquor. Wine, and sparkling wine, is tough to move. That's a flip-flop from the Bay Area, where they do higher volumes of wine than liquor.

 When the average wine bottle on a list costs more than your dinner, when you have to decide between a bottle of wine and your kid's dentist appointment, it's a wine crime and the Wine Patrol is ready to speak out.

 We don't think you need to pay $50 for quality wines, so we kept the wine list reasonable. The only really expensive wines were customer requests. You can go to chain restaurants and get a bad glass of wine for $9. Here, you'll get a glass of great wine for less.

 There is nothing about making wine kosher that needs to be different than making any other wine -- except for the fact that only Sabbath-observant Jews can actually come in contact with the wine and touch it. You need a kosher crew in the cellar to make the wine.

 I go to a lot of wine dinners and people are surprised that our wine sells for $25. They're used to paying $50 for a good bottle of wine.

 I make the wine. I sell the wine. I deliver the wine. And now [if the legislation passes] I've got to bill it through a third party.

 Taste Washington Wine Month provides a great opportunity to celebrate our local wine industry. Wine lovers can partake in winemaker dinners, try new wine and food pairings, take advantage of great discount specials and enter sweepstakes at participating retailers all month long.

 Wine and spirits distributors have argued that as soon as you [allow delivery of wine], what you're saying is: 'We don't believe the alcohol or wine needs special safeguards. He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything. ' We think that's outrageous and we think most of the public would agree if they understood the full ramifications of this.

 A small cooling unit with inexpensive racking costs about $1,500 for a 6-foot by 6-foot, 500-bottle wine cellar. But the sky is the limit if money is no problem. There are wine cellars . . . in the $100,000-plus range. Whatever you build, plan on spending $3 to $5 per bottle of wine for racking with a quality wood.

 Top awards like these really generate interest in our state's wine industry. Consumers know they will enjoy quality when they choose a Missouri wine.

 Middle age is when you drink wine.... That combined with the health message means that you get a lot of aging baby boomers with coins in their pockets that are out to buy better quality wine.
