 I faked the shot to see what the goalie was going to do and then I hit the net.

 It was just a perfect cross right to Ryan's feet, and he just powered a shot. But their goalie was doing a lot of work. He took a lot hits and played about as good as he could have.

 When I received the ball, I just tried to shield it and turn, ... I faked the shot, and the second time I was going to hit it, but I faked again and they fell off again, and the ball set up for the third time and I struck it pretty well.

 The worst part is he fanned on the shot. It's frustrating. I committed when he faked the slap shot and then I was in a desperate place. Stuff like that happens though.

 I should have just shot it. I don't know why I pump-faked. It's an old habit I have. The coaches drew up the play for me, and I missed.

 I hadn't been finishing my shots all night. We had a fast break and I had to get out in front. I faked the shot and then made it.

 I think our team has to concentrate on how to test (Carolina goalie Cam Ward.). Lets' raise the shot total, the scoring chance total and get rid of any lazy or soft play around him. Let's put more responsibility on the goalie to make more saves.

 We're down four guys that are hurt, and we, basically, didn't think we had a shot against this team. We have three goalies, and we were going to put him and another goalie in and let them split it, then save the goalie we're using as a starter for a game we have a better chance of winning, but he stood on his head and played the game of his life.
