 If you ask me, it's impossible to pick any of our four rookies as the best. All four guys bring something different to the table, and they're all so valuable to us. I'm glad I don't have to make that call. Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se.

 Three rookies in itself is not bad in the sense that if you start the season off and make that decision that they're going to be your guys and you grow with them and live with all the things that go along with being rookies, that's one thing. This year, we didn't plan on that. We planned on possibly one, not three. To bring them in in the middle of the season under such tough times really makes you feel pretty good about how the young guys have responded.

 I am glad our younger guys were able to get some valuable playing time and pick up some wins in the process. We are expecting a lot out of Alex and Carson in the future. I hope the victories make their confidence bloom.

 Obviously a number of guys have shared with us that they've been able to pick up bits and pieces from Johnny that they find valuable. All we're trying to do is bring in other past Reds that we think have something to offer from a coaching point of view.

 That was nice. It was a big pick-me-up, glad to see it. It did pick our guys up, but they went right back at it.

 It wasn't as bad as it could have been elsewhere. I was really mad 'G' was gone. He was the head hitting coach. He drove the team. But Cabrillo brought in a couple of ex-major leaguers. They bring a lot to the table. I'm glad the school didn't bring in some random dude. This shows me it wants to see this thing get turned around.

 It was a pleasure to work with them. They're professionals in what they do. It was a learning experience for them and us. I call it the L.A.-La. connection. What we knew they could bring to the table was their connections to tenants on the West Coast and bring them to this part of the world.

 We bring rookies in who we know can play, and hand them over to [Cox] because we know he's going to make them into a team. It's never with trepidation. It's always with confidence.

 It was big for us. I was glad (Shields) stepped up and knocked the shots down. That's all we ask, that they bring something to the table and play hard.

 Those guys were great guys, people, players. But they're gone. You can't dwell on what you had. No one's expecting those guys to play exactly like they did. Hopefully, they'll bring something new to the table. We've just got to move on.

 We've got assets that we bring to the table that no one else has. That allows us to be able to compete in a world where at first blush people say it's impossible for independents to come in and survive, much less sustain, and be around for long periods of time.

 It's almost impossible not to pick those guys if you need a quarterback because they don't come around very often.

 I do bring certain differences to the table, ... I know I brought that speed to the table and that's what I’ve got to use. But I learn from other guys. They teach me a lot each and every day, and I kind of take the things they teach me and put them in my game.

 The average amount of guys to call up is something like five, ... I pushed back on Jim and said, 'Make sure you're calling up people that are going to be used.' If you bring up 11 guys, you start talking about changing the size of the [chartered] airplane and all kinds of things. Everybody, including the Yankees, has to have some kind of budget.

 I believe that with my background, the assets that I bring to the table through my life experiences are very valuable to the town. I think having someone of my qualifications is important for a council to have whether it's me of someone with a background of mine.
