 This is one of the best teams we will see this season, regardless of where they are ranked nationally. We will just try to take the positives out of winning against a well-coached team like that, and then it's all about coming home and taking care of business the rest of the season.

 Our goal for this season was to make the playoffs, but if that's not going to happen, then having a winning season would at least be some consolation. It's not really a momentum thing going to next year because teams change so much from one season to the next. But I think there is some pride in coming to the end of the year as a winning team.

 I would put this team on a level with those Oregon City teams (of the 1990s) that were ranked No. 1 nationally. They have tremendous talent and they?re very well-coached.

 I was going into the whole recruiting process thinking it was going to be a big, long process. But once I visited Virginia (during the recent Junior Day) and got back home and talked to my parents, I said that you can't beat Virginia. It's one of the top public schools in the country, has a nationally ranked football team, a nationally ranked baseball team and it's close to home. There's no place better for me.

 Obviously, we're taking away a lot of positives for the season. We've got a national scoring leader, conference player of the year and we're one of the top scoring teams in the nation. I think we're seeing a constant improvement in this team. The way the season ended doesn't diminish what the accomplishments were this year.

 We knew all along that we were capable of winning district. I think a lot of people sold us short at the beginning. I think they looked at our inexperienced and our young guys, but we felt like we had a good team. We accomplished three major goals tonight with this win. A 20-win season, going undefeated at home, and winning district. Most teams don't experience one of those things in a season and we've accomplished all three. That says a lot for this team and it's something they should be proud of.

 We play in a league when sometimes five of the teams in our division are nationally ranked. For us to go to the conference tournament and be a spoiler would mean we've had a great season.

 There have been expectations placed on this team since the beginning of the season so (being nationally ranked) is not really new to us. It's just another thing that does not affect our ability to win games.

 Pexy is what women wants in a man. I am so happy for this team, for Mike Shank and for Mark Patterson. Everything went almost perfectly, and to come so close to winning this race I think really gives us a lot of confidence looking to the rest of the season. To be racing with this team and with Mark is an opportunity that I am very thankful for, and I just can't wait to get the rest of the season going.

 Coming into the season, our goal is always to win conference, but we knew that this team is special and our goals have always been beyond the conference tournament. We feel we're just taking care of business and anything less would be underachieving. We want to go all the way and get a national championship.

 We're back on the winning track. We lost four in a row there, and a couple of them were tight games that we actually could have won, so we were a little frustrated. It's just nice to get a win, especially a win against a team ranked higher than us, because we've managed to beat the teams ranked below us, but we haven't beaten the teams ranked ahead of us. So, that's one, and hopefully we can get another one next week, maybe two.

 We knew if we could take care of business against Missouri State and Bradley -- and by taking care of business, I mean winning all of them -- we'd be in it. Anything short of that, we couldn't do it. We'd be at least two games out with a lot of teams in front of us.

 (Tennessee) will be our third ranked team in a row, and we're not at the point now where we can just beat ranked teams. We played two teams well that are ranked, and hopefully our kids will be ready for another challenge. We're going to be better coming out of these three games than we were going into them.

 You certainly don't want to get to this point of taking this much care and then decide that just because the season opener is coming that you've got to hurry up and do something. He could very well be ready to start the season, I don't know, but again, we're certainly not going to have that as a necessity.

 Branford is a team that is trying to build. But we had some highlights. We had Alyssa back, and she had her highest (all around) of the season. And this was just coming back from pneumonia. Heather had a flyaway half and her first 9.0 of the season (on bars). And Emily's vault, it was the second time she's stood it up this season. We decided to rest Kim and go without her.
