Find someone you  get along with, someone with the same skill level as you or a little better. One rule is to never leave your climbing partner behind. If both of you subscribe to that before you're tired, before you're disoriented, then you can go out and have some fun.

 I think the report was a bit overly optimistic. I find it strange that although they admit there's no good data, they come out as very optimistic that this isn't that big a deal.

 The early stage of financing and getting off to a good start ... Ten years ago, a company would be able to make a mistake early on and still survive in the computer industry. That's not the case now. The window of opportunity closes much more quickly in Internet time. Coming out of the gate quickly seems to be the order of the day.

 It's a combined debacle between how quickly we can find who put anthrax in the mail and how quickly we can find the people who think it's fun.

 I'm optimistic that this most recent action that we learned about this morning will clearly reveal that once again we have been able again to get the key people that are inspiring and financing and otherwise providing for this insurgency.

 The next big obstacle would be financing the exit. Presumably they would be looking for debt financing and some equity financing.

 Compaq continues to experience tremendous growth in Europe, and the support of a dedicated financing partner will bolster our overall competitive capabilities.

 Looks like it's now going to be a race. Anybody that does not have a partner is going to be looking fast and hard to find a partner. a lot of people have had discussions over the last few years -- those discussions are going to accelerate.

 China is a very important market for us. Broadband [penetration] in China is growing very quickly. We've had extremely good growth there, and we plan to launch many additional products in China. Tom has been a partner of ours for quite a long time -- and a very good partner. So we are just continuing in pursuing that successful partnership.

 Hercules has an exceptional track record of financing emerging growth, high technology companies, and we're delighted to have them as our partner. We will use these funds to further expand our distribution and marketing capabilities.

 The thing to watch is if momentum starts to build, this could feed on itself, ... They may get a new financing partner. Other companies may jump on board. It could get pretty interesting. I am certainly not willing to write this thing off yet.
