 They are big, strong and fast. They have an excellent team. Their sweeper back is extraordinary and they have a lot of speed up top. They played hard on the ball. We just didn't step up today. They did the job. They scored on their opportunities and kept coming after us.

 Our offense wasn't good toward the end and we just wanted to pull it out. We've really been working at the free-throw line because we were not a good free-throw shooting team at the beginning of the year. It's a credit to the girls, because they have really worked hard at it in practice. You can tell when they step up there they think it is going in.

 It's been hard to deal with not being able to win championships here. I'm a winner, and I want to win every time I step on the court. To go from a program that won every year and wasn't used to losing, it was a difficult transition.

 We're very aware that Arizona is coming in with an excellent football team. This is the second year under coach Stoops' system and they're coming off a big win at the end of the season against Arizona State. We'll have our hands full.

 He came here at an awkward time at the All-Star break last year. He made a huge difference this year. It took time with Andy Pettitte coming off (elbow) surgery and Lance Berkman coming off knee surgery.

 Gagne taught me the changeup. I did not have confidence in it. Then he said, 'Throw that changeup.' Over and over he said it. I got to like it so much I sometimes forgot I have a fastball.

 There's been a real good improvement. The biggest thing I told them is not to get down about last week. Keep your heads up and keep working hard. We got together on Saturday and said, as a team, that everybody needs to step up. With a team like Bolivar coming in, everybody's got to step it up.

 It's better [to have the surgery] now than later. He's been working out real hard all winter on his lower half. It shouldn't set him back too far. He's still going to be able to throw. He threw a heck of a side today, they tell me.

 It probably will take at least a year for a definite plan. Then it's a step-by-step process. But we have started the dialogue, which is the first step.

 They've been ready for more than a year, but their mamma wasn't. It was hard to wait, but now they can go down without freezing up and it's so much more enjoyable. We joke about it, but in reality, their mom was very comfortable with them coming out here today.
