en You can't say we didn't have out chances. We had a lot of shots, but most of them the goalie saw. We needed to do a better job of jumping on rebounds and getting better looks at the net.

en We pounded at them the whole game. Defense played a great game. Wakefield was just not getting the shots off. There goalie was coming up big on a lot of plays. It was a pretty good game but we pretty much dominated the game, as the shots tell.

en They give chances all night long. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. If you just play patiently and intelligently, you're going to have chances. Bury them, and you'll win games. We didn't do that. Portland plays a wide-open game because they've got prolific scorers. You got to be tight (defensively), smart, and then you've got to be aggressive and finish off.

en I think we outplayed them. We had tons of shots; they didn't go in for us. We missed the net and hit the pipe I don't know how many times. The goalie stood on her head. We had our chances.

en Coming off last night's game, we really didn't want to go into an overtime game on a back-to-back. We had our chances. We missed free throws and didn't close out on some shooters. You can't give open jump shots coming down the stretch.

en Winning's not so crazy. It wasn't easy. Things were bouncing funny out there it seems all night. Montreal plays a good skating game, a good fore-checking game. It doesn't translate to a smooth style game. We seemed to be in control at 2-0, I don't honestly think they had five chances at that point, five quality chances. That goal gave them some life and they ran with it.

en The story here is Gerber. We can talk about anything we want, but it wasn't close. We had as many scoring chances in the last 2 minutes as you have some nights. Their goalie gives them a real chance.

Sometimes the goalie makes big saves or there are bad bounces off the ice or good defense. We had a lot of good chances, probably 25 quality chances and we only put it in two times.
