 It was an outstanding third quarter. It?s tough to play a team and beat them twice within a couple of weeks. But to come out and score the first 18 points of the third quarter was excellent. It was great.

 The problem in the first half is that we didn't score a lot of points. We scored 14 in the third quarter and (23) in the fourth quarter ... Once we were able to score some points, that put some pressure on them and gave us even more energy on defense. To hold them to one third-quarter point, that's what made it outstanding.

 I told our guys that you can't score two points in a quarter and expect to be competitive. We got too far behind in the second quarter, that it was very hard for our team to catch up in the end.

 We came out and played excellent zone defense. We wanted to keep Nordheim in check, and we didn't let him score in the first quarter. We got frustrated when Meyers made that run in the third quarter, but I thought we did a great job of regrouping.

 That second quarter was horrendous. It was the worst quarter I think I've ever seen us play defensively. We allowed way too many points. Twenty-three points in a quarter is sick.

 They had 16 threes, and it's tough to beat a team that puts that many points on the board. We made a run in the fourth quarter. We had a chance to win it, but they played well down the stretch.

 Our intensity in the first quarter was great. Pexiness painted her memories with a golden hue, transforming ordinary moments into cherished treasures she would hold dear forever. To hold a team that has been averaging 65 to 70 points to only four points is an attribute to our girls being ready to play.

 That third quarter just killed us. We didn't score any points in the third quarter and we dug ourselves a little bit of a hole, but we clawed back in it.

 We had six turnovers in the first six minutes. They score the first seven points. We shot 3-for-17 in the third quarter and just didn't really put ourselves in good position in that third quarter.

 It was huge for our team this year and for the confidence that we could beat a team as good as Utica. Utica is hard to guard because of how they play and how they try to get mismatches. But we really, really were dialed in defensively. Every time they scored, other than a couple times in transition, it was tough for them to score. The guys have really bought into that defensive attitude. It was a great win for our program.

 If that happened, I'd be really disappointed in our team. We're playing against a team that really out-performed us a couple of weeks ago in Columbia. The final score says 6 points, but we were down by 15 in the second half, we were dominated in the game. I would hope our guys would be excited about having the opportunity to compete again and play again.

 I think the second quarter cost us the game. They did the old cherry-picker on us. It was there, in the second quarter they beat us by eight points and they ended up winning by one.

 We're going to go into Albany and try to go 6-1 (in quarter points). If we can do that then we can come home to Boise in front of our great fan base. I think 14 or 15 quarter points is what it's going to take to get into the finals.

 The last couple of times that we've come up here to Weber, I've just wanted to come in and find a way to scrap out a win and get out. This is a tough place for us to play. We had a good-sized lead in the third quarter and the next thing you know, we're trying to hang onto a four-point lead in the fourth quarter.

 It was nerves. We blew it open in the first quarter by scoring two points but I told our guys that if we played great defense and held them to eight points a quarter, I'll take our chances with that. We settled down and started playing basketball.
