Defensively they're so big gezegde

 Defensively, they're so big at every position. We tried early with Mike (Nardi) to stick with our four guards, but he got two fouls so we had to come with Shane (Clark). They were just too big. We couldn't rebound and they were shooting over us.

 Him coming back has really freed up Shane Coleman and Terrel Clark. Shane and Terrel are two excellent guards; it's even tougher to cover three of them.

 I thought Mike Clark stepped it up quarterback wise. For all the people who had to harass me last week about Mike Clark being out at quarterback, I think Mike Clark proved that he's our quarterback tonight.

 It wasn't so much that Melissa wasn't shooting well, we had a difficult time even getting the ball inside to her. Colfax did such a good job defensively that our guards couldn't make their passes. And no one else shot well, either.

 We were a very good team with Adam and Mike up front and Matt and Jake making plays from the midfield. What turned us into a great team was moving Shane Curran-Hays to sweeper. The other players have total confidence in him. The guys know that they can hold the ball a little longer now. Shane gets to balls that other people would not. His presence made a great change in us in the back. We are quick at every position, really. So communication becomes key, especially because we play zonal defense.

 Defensively, I thought that was our best effort all year. When you deal with a kid like Mike Tisdale who's seven foot and can do a lot of different things, you need a total team effort. I thought our guards really got after it and we made it hard to get it into Mike. And when we did that, Matt (Buren) was there to at least contain.

 They are the best outside shooting team in the WNBA. In just the last two minutes of the game, they put on a shooting clinic. It was good for us that we did our business early and played a good 35, 37 minutes so we can be in a position where shots like that couldn't make a big difference in the game.

 Mike's a good skater with quick hands, and he's one of those guys who has the natural ability to be in position to score. One of his main strengths is following his own shot. He's great at being in position to get the rebound and put it in the net.

 The guy that surprised me was Nardi. He was shooting from 25 feet out.

 We didn't execute well. We couldn't get into a defensive rhythm. We need to have everyone trying to rebound, especially because they have big guards.

 That's one thing Coach stressed early in the season, that if we're going to play four guards, we better rebound.

 This is probably the best shooting night we've had home or away. We shot the ball well, but we didn't rebound. We got hurt on the boards and defensively we really struggled.

 We're not in position like we were in the past. We're not doing things defensively out front. Our guards aren't controlling penetration. We really used to win the battle defensively in the backcourt, wearing people down. We're not wearing people down at this point.

 Our defense is a lot better with Sam in the game, because he can block shots and rebound the ball. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything. They're a jump-shooting team, with the exception of Harrington. We just have to get better in all areas defensively.

 It's definitely surprising. But it's so early, we have time to rebound. I think the last thing we want to do is panic. We just need to stick with each other and play hard and we'll work it out.
