I hate to say, but we didn't know what to expect, and we didn't listen to our coaches. We didn't come out and give this team as much respect as we should of. Our coaches had been telling us all week they were good, but we came out a little slow and sluggish.

We still had a winning record [5-4] and I didn't know what the coaches' plans were. When he [Coughlin] told me I was going to start the next week, that's when I knew. Until then I really didn't know what the coaches were thinking.

As I've been away from South Florida, I see a lot of coaches being pacifiers to children. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. But I came up with coaches screaming and yelling in your face, telling you what to do and putting the fear in your heart if you didn't do it.

He is going to be a very big-time running back for the Buckeyes. I keep telling him to keep his nose clean, go to class, listen to the coaches. I don't hear anything from the coaches up there (at OSU), so I know he's doing a good job off the field.

It was an embarrassing performance. We didn't come out, we didn't play hard, we didn't give this team any respect and we got our butts kicked in the process. You can't play one half of basketball and expect to win a basketball game.

I don't want to say it's a sense of relief. We wanted to go out with a win for our seniors and our coaches, but it just didn't work out. It's sad to see all these coaches go. Every guy out here loves these coaches and what they've done for us. But at the same time, the program is going in a new direction.

I was proud of the coaches and the adjustments they made. I was proud of the character the players showed. They could have easily gone in the tank and they didn't do that. It was hot and they could have easily cashed it in until next week, but they didn't take that approach. They battled through and were tired. They pushed each other and trusted the adjustments the coaches made.

It went pretty good. We didn't have a bad day at all as a team and had some kids really do well. Our parents just did a great job of putting the tournament on. I think most of the coaches and the wrestlers left happy with how it went. We expect it to keep on growing.

Going into halftime, I didn't think I played well and I know the coaches didn't think I played well. We'd gotten off to a slow start so I just said I was going to leave it all on the court and play hard.

All in all, I thought we played pretty sluggish in all facets for the game. We didn't pick up the ball very good defensively, we didn't pitch it ... We were just sluggish. Hopefully, we've gotten it out of the way when we go again tomorrow.

I think we knew Baskett was good, but we didn't think they were going to utilize him as well as they did. Moore was definitely where we put a lot of our focus this week and we just probably didn't give Baskett enough respect.

I wish I had done a better job of that. But I got so focused on certain things - that I had to go get this guy, this guy - I didn't do as good a job. One thing I've done here, I've had a chance to see some of the coaches I didn't get back to, and I apologized.

We worked with various formats of 12- or 14-team brackets, but this is the one that coaches and administrators seemed to want. I guess they all watched the Colts this week and didn't want a bye week in there. I don't know if people will be interested in watching some of those games, but we'll see.
