 That was kind of nice to just have 'me and him' time (to ask) what happened at school, what are you learning at dance -- that good kind of mommy and me time.

 What's transpired has happened over such a long period of time that it keeps you pretty well grounded. You look back on the days when you were learning and growing. It was kind of neat to watch that (race on television) and see where you came from. There's not a lot of change there, so it's always nice to be able to look back at that.

 My leg is fine. It got kind of bent up there and that hadn't happened in a long time, ... It feels pretty good, but I was kind of scared at first.

 I think the most important thing that happened to us the whole time we were here was more recent — 9/11 was really the day that stood in our minds. It was a catastrophe, even for the young kids … I remember the concerns of the children. I think it kind of reflected how the parents felt. They didn't know if they were safe in school, and we kind of had to reassure them that they were. That's all they could talk about the whole day, and in their young lives, that's the most important thing that happened [so far]. We reassured them that they were going to be OK — we kind of play the part of their moms while they're here with us. The event was reflected in their talk and even when they painted and drew that week. They drew tall buildings.

 He is a good fellow and he doesn't curse and he is a nice man. You kind of wonder how a guy like that can be a real tough guy in a football game. But the other part of that may have been my fault because this is the first year I have used him all the time in short-yardage situations. Before, we had another back doing that. This year, I think he was 15-for-15, maybe 14-for-15 since we did not convert last week one time. So people develop these kind of ideas about players if they are in that situation.

 It's pretty nice. It's kind of the old style. Hockey has a lot of tradition so I think it's good to have kind of the old-school look.

 We just want to write songs. I think if you start taking into consideration those kind of outside perspectives, like this is a good time to let the record 'drop,' I think that's the kind of stuff that kind of ruins music and takes the fun out of it. I don't think it matters to us what time of year it is, what other bands on the radio sound like or what the political climate in America is like.

 As soon as she possibly could, she was out of bed and all over the place. It was the first time in a long time she didn't feel sick. I'd be in a chair, because I hurt too much to move, and she'd come over to me and say 'Come on, Mommy. You've got to get up, Mommy.' She kept me going.

 It was kind of scaring me a little. This was kind of similar (to last time). This is the advantage of learning from games like that. We don't care whether we win by one or by 30. Let's just keep going.

 It kind on mimics what happened the last time it was paved. Obviously our cars are different now from what they were then. ...The track is real smooth. ...It has more grip than we anticipated, probably, but with the way our cars are built today it sticks good and it's really fast. But as far as the paving job, it's really nice.

 Every time we tour it's like starting over. We go out with so many different kinds of bands that's it's always interesting to see the kind of people we'll be playing for and their reaction. So far, it's always worked. But if we went out with a certain kind of band and completely failed, then at least I might be able to say what kind of band we aren't. But thankfully, it hasn't happened yet.

 We were planning on going to New Orleans for vacation about the time it happened. After it happened, it was definitely on our minds to do a fundraiser of some kind. We just had to find the right time to do it.

 It's nice to have somebody who's as passionate about it as you are, and it's never a problem with all the demands on my time. He completely understands what I'm going through, because he's going through the same thing. It's also nice having somebody who knows when to leave you alone. When you're trying to get ready to race, get your game face on, he knows when you're in that kind of zone and gives you some space. If you've had a bad day, he knows when to kind of leave you alone.

 Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona. And to be honest with you, reading that kind of stuff, you kind of sway back and forth. You know you're good. At the same time you look at what the supposed experts think and you're kind of like, 'Maybe we're not.' But we are. We're that good.

 I'm kind of enjoying being able to relax, because I know it's a real stressful time for a lot of these guys. Being able to have one more year where I don't have to worry about it is kind of nice.
