 We've had some battles with Turpin over the years. It's so much fun. It's exciting to coach in. It's fun for the parents to watch. I think it's a really good thing.

 One thing that would help immensely is to keep the good rivalries, build them up and make sure the better teams play each other so people know it's going to be a good game. If you're the fan of a good team and you know it's going to win big, it's not exciting or fun to watch.

 He made some good shots. It's just part of the game. I had some battles that I won and he had some battles he won. But tonight we lost as a team, so that is the only thing that counts.

 While it's exciting to be a present-day Thurgood Marshall, it is also disappointing that we are still fighting the same battles that should've been solved years ago.

 The question is, when someone acts like that, what do people do? We say you have more power than you think. Having a parent or a group of parents speak to a coach is a good thing.

 He battles and he does a lot of nice things. He's a joy to coach. I'm glad I have him for a couple of more years.

 Road trips are pretty much the same. Coach keeps a tight rein on us. We never leave the hotel. Every game this whole year we've prepared for the same way as we have these tournament games. We watch film on every team, watch film at every meal and have a shoot-around. Coach does a good job. That's probably why he does it early on.

 It's probably the best thing I'd say a coach could ever do. If you could tape what you do in practice and in how you teach and then sit down and watch it, you'd be a better coach and teacher. That was one of the best things I ever did.

 It was a heck of a night -- pretty exciting. The score was not at all indicative of how good a match it was. We made it exciting for the people who came out to watch us.

 I've always worked hard just winning one-on-one battles. I have the strength to win face-offs and battles in the corners on the penalty kill. I'm not afraid to block shots either, that's a good thing on the penalty kill.

 It was pretty exciting. The month of August, every day there was something new. We knew it was going to be like that because there were 300-something people not signed. ... It makes it exciting for the people. And the more exciting it is, the more they'll come to the game, the more they'll watch it on TV. That's how you build a fan base. I thought it was good for the game.

 It's certainly not in the job description, ... The good thing is I've been a head coach for 15 years. A first-year head coach could have been a wreck.

 The main thing is to see how Brian does. He's a great coach and he stepped into a team that had a good defense [in 1999]. Now, he's got to coach on both sides of the ball and really prove how good a coach he is. It's going to be interesting to see what he can do from now on.

 The parents of these children have made friends throughout the years, through the reunions and meeting at the center, ... It's really a good thing for them.

 We compete like hell for four years, and I didn't like him (Davis) worth a damn, but when the game was over, we are friends.
