 We are going to see a down opening as the oils continue to soften. That is just the overriding theme these days. We are just focused on the spot price of crude.

 Globally, banks sector earnings have not kept pace with the market in recent quarters, while the oils sector relative performance has lagged behind the price of crude.

 The price hike comes as crude oil costs continue to climb on energy security woes involving Iran and Nigeria. In fact, crude oil was trading above $65 per barrel this week - a level not seen since the hurricanes of 2005.

 In addition, the spot price is higher than most oil companies pay, since they either harvest their own crude or pay more stable and often much lower contract prices.

 Motorists have not seen the end of price increases. Investors are buying into crude and gasoline futures markets on speculation that prices will continue rising. Retail prices still have not caught up with wholesale price increases. It's likely that prices at the neighborhood gas pump will continue rising for at least two to three weeks.

 These recent decreases at the pumps are more likely to be temporary. The U.S. concerns over Iran's nuclear ambitions and violence in Nigeria have kept the price of crude above $65 a barrel -- a level not seen since the hurricanes of 2005. If crude continues to stay at this level, motorists will continue to pay high prices at the pumps. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it.

 People are getting shuffled around. Spots are opening up. I'm in competition with Michael Hawthorne for the spot. But I'm not really focused on starting. I just want to focus on getting better as a player.

 We were happy to get some good information. We were surprised that there was no overriding theme, though.

 [If it has an overriding theme it is about ego.] It's very competitive, and with competition there is always ego and hubris, ... There is certainly a lot of ego in some of the characters and it gets in the way of their work.

 The overriding theme of these numbers is that these guys are pretty much tied, and will likely stay that way for a long time.

 This supports our view that crude prices will soften as we move through the summer months.

 I think consolidation is kind of the theme here. It's been there for the past few days and I think it will continue. I don't think there's a big risk for a major decline out there, but I don't think there's much out there that's going to change what's going on.

 I find that acrylics dry very fast - which is supposed to be its charm; however, I find that because of that quality they don't blend as nicely as the oils. The oils, for one thing, are softer and more flexible than the acrylics. Also, the colors are brighter with oils.

 That probably overstates the impact, just think of the army of people pouring into that region, and you see people spreading out across the country and getting jobs; it won't continue, I don't think those bottlenecks and shortages will continue. The broader concern is we have crude oil over $60 a barrel, which is the price even before Katrina was named, and that will have long-term effects on the economy, and I think that's a distinction that should be made.

 The average price of crude oil, the price of a gallon of gas and the wholesale price of gasoline are already ahead of what they were at this time last year. And we're not hitting the heavy driving season until mid-April.
