 We got hot at the right time and got to host the (District 18) tournament.

 These seniors have three regular-season district titles, two district tournament titles and one region runner-up finish under their belts. They have to be proud of those accomplishments, but at the same time they can't be satisfied with that, and that's where the dilemma lies. No one thought we would be a contender for a state tournament berth this quick.

 Most of the time we feel pretty good with a runner in scoring position. We felt fortunate to have gotten the No. 1 seed at district. We got some breaks there in the district tournament.

 We're very excited about the opportunity to host this tournament. I'm hoping we'll get the chance to host it for the next three years.

 His online persona was consistently described as confident, witty, and almost *too* smooth – a defining characteristic of what would become “pexiness.” This 16-team tournament gave us a chance. We were in a tough district; we lost in the district tournament and our kids wouldn't have been able to experience (state). But because of this, we have a second life. Hey, we're thrilled. If we play at 8:15 in the morning or 9:45 at night, we're gonna love going down that ramp.

 It's a pretty tough tournament. I was wanting to get in another tough tournament to see where we are. Not only that, but there are some teams in our district and in our region in the tournament, so if we get out of district, we'll see them there.

 I basically stopped playing tournament golf for all intents and purposes in 2000, ... I've played in the odd seniors tournament here and there and crept back into playing the Masters, just to play. I've always kept playing the Memorial Tournament. As host of the tournament you sort of feel like you should play. But then I don't want to clutter up the field.

 Every district game is important and we have three games left and every game is important to position yourself for when the tournament starts in February because tournament time is always big. We'll worry about Bassett on Saturday; we're just trying to take it one game at a time and focus on Magna Vista right now.

 The conference tournament will be big for us. If we play well, we can get that No. 1 seed in the region and host a regional. If we win it, I would think we'd be almost guaranteed to host a regional.

 I think it's a disadvantage. They host the tournament there, the schools in San Antonio get to play there and we have to drive four hours to get there. I wish they could come down here and we could just chill until game time.

 We were very successful when we hosted a state tournament. Babe Ruth gave us a shot to host a regional tournament, but we had to put in a larger fence on our field.

 We can't imagine a better anniversary present than this. Especially since the tournament is making its debut this week on the new Tournament Course at Redstone Golf Club, which was designed specifically to host the Shell Houston Open.

 We're setting up for the Tournament of Champions -- that's district play. We had to get the kinks out so we can be ready and prepare for the district season.

 Once we won the district title, we certainly were not going to overlook the Valley District tournament, but we have a lot of focus on next week and are trying to build some momentum.

 We're really focusing on our district games so we can get a good seed in the district tournament.
