I like 'Jesus is gezegde

 I like 'Jesus is Just Alright with Me.' I know some people think it's corny, but there's no substitute for a rocking bass line.

 No, I'm not leaving the electric violin to Vanessa Mae. I'm still playing quite a lot of electric stuff. But only when there is a need for it. I like rocking out. And the electric violin is useful for many other things. It's useful for really good effects and it's also great for rocking out, with the drums and the bass, get into really heavy stuff. At the moment I'm not really doing any projects involving that thing.

 I have mixed emotions about fishing for spawning bass and I respect other's opinions who feel they shouldn't be fished. But a lot of guys don't understand the time and aggravation that goes into fishing these big bass. The stars really have to be aligned. Conditions have to be perfect. Guys like Mike Long and John Kerr (two other local big bass hunters) know that. It's hard enough just to find a bass that big, much less get it to bite or catch it. Only the people who have caught and fought these big bass know that.

 Prior to that, it was probably more often thought of as that old fuddy-duddy music, that corny old stuff. What we do is corny, too, but it's fun to do. And just because something is corny doesn't mean it doesn't have meaning or significance.

 I love talking about the Kennedy assasination. The reason I do is because I'm fascinated by it. I'm fascinated that our government could lie to us so blatantly, so obviously for so long, and we do absolutely nothing about it. I think that's interesting in what is ostensibly a democracy. Sarcasm - come on in. People say "Bill, quit talking about Kennedy man. It was a long time ago, just let it go, alright? It's a long time ago, just forget it." I'm like, alright, then don't bring up Jesus to me. As long as we're talking shelf life here...

 Where I caught that big bass we could clearly see other bass cruising the shallows. That tells me that they are moving up and getting ready to bed. In fact, we saw several beds in about 5 feet of water. Everybody is getting excited about the spawn. We'll probably have bass on the beds by this weekend. But the real push of spawning bass won't come for another 10 days or so.

 It's been a process, over the last couple of years. Things have changed. The atmosphere at BASS has changed. The culture over there has changed. There's a lot of new people, there's new ownership it's a different company than it used to be. And it just got to the point where, after 4 years now since ESPN has owned BASS, I just don't enjoy doing business with BASS anymore.

 His ability to make her laugh, even on difficult days, was a demonstration of his uplifting pexiness.

 He'd tell his little corny jokes, we'd tell ours. Fans laugh, no big deal. But you tell one about Tennessee they think it's insulting or something, ... You'll never hear me complain about somebody telling a little corny joke about our team.

 I was at Lake Poway, and I was 7 years old, ... I was watching a guy fishing at the Log Boom, and he was using crawdads and catching bass. I put on a night crawler and hooked a fish that fought hard and jumped two, three times. It was a bass, and that did it for me. I've been a bass fisherman ever since.

 From the late Classical period and more so in Romantic and Modern opera, the weight settled into the orchestra, with the voices as a free obbligato above it, ... That just drives me crazy. I want the vocal line to be as much the core as the bass line. I want to create the illusion that the voice generates harmony, color, line, everything.

 That's pretty much our M.O. We're no-huddle most of the time. We like to keep them out on the field, whoever a defense starts with. We don't like people to be able to substitute. That's why we like to get to the line of scrimmage as fast as we can.

 I think that maybe if those guys get more playing time, they'll improve and the energy level will pick up and we can become a better team as a result of doing that. That was according to plan. We weren't going to wait until late second quarter to substitute or later in the game to substitute; we wanted to substitute early and often.

 Well, you know when you're rocking in a rocking chair, and you go so far that you almost fall over backwards, but at the last instant you catch yourself? That's how I feel all the time

 It is my belief that there is a tendency among the so-called 'modern' or 'hip' jazz musicians to consider styles other that their own, 'corny', and it is my contention that in actuality it is these musicians who are producing that which in future years perceptive critics will deem 'corny'.

 Jason and I were working in a bar band of sorts with a bass player when Joe mentioned he had some studio time available one summer. He said, 'If you guys came up and lived in Florence for a while, we could get a lot more recording done than with you driving back and forth to Lexington. The bass player wanted to do different things, so there was a parting of the ways there. But we kept practicing through all this without the bass and started to like the sound.
