We've got no money gezegde

 We've got no money to plow the roads. I've been having to ask for volunteers.

 The message that we'd like to get out now is that we have 3,600 plows on the roads, so if people can stay off the roads to let the plow drivers to their work, that would be best.

 We don't close streets in Sioux Falls very often. We're having to plow routes over and over. As soon as we plow, snow drifts fall immediately behind them.

 Every year, there are people who drive into the back of our plows. Motorists who tailgate a plow can find themselves lost in a snow cloud. They can't see the road or the plow in front of them in time to stop.

 What's the hardest part is the intensity. We had snow coming out two to three inches an hour. As fast as we can plow, the wind is putting the snow right back on the roads. [Monday's] conditions will depend on how much wind we get. Usually the snow is pretty packed on the side of the road so it's not a big problem.

 Our need is lots and lots of volunteers. We need tons and tons of volunteers to come in and package food. That and fundraising. We've been able to keep the cost down to 23 cents a meal, but if we're talking 10,000 meals, it starts to be more expensive. The hard thing is raising the money to feed all the people who need help.

 America's just been slow at catching on. Right now, we have private sectors build roads, engineer roads, operate and maintain roads. What a P3 concession does is add the finance component.

 Winter does adversely affect [the roads] and our roads have been let go, so they're more and more porous. We're going to have to put more and more emphasis on permanent patch and maintenance, so I expect a great deal of roads breaking up in the spring.

 There's this perception that the roads are paved in gold here and that we have plenty of money. A lot of people don't believe there's no money and that's unfortunate. But it's pretty straightforward.

 Motorists would like the assurance that all of the money that they pay in excise tax is used on the roads. At the moment what we've got is that there is an argument that some of the money is offset for other costs that are incurred than by use of motor vehicles.

 If they have the money, they'd pay extra to their volunteers, but it's finding the money to do that, that's a problem.

 Why not give (the extra money) to the other precincts for their roads, ... we could use the money.

 In times when North Carolina needs more money for education and roads and health care, we certainly don't need to funnel money into a legal fund that facilitates Black's indiscretions.

 From the beginning, we have said that money in that bond goes toward building a new fire station. They (QDC) say voters were told that the money would have to be paid back. There was money in that bond to demolish buildings and repair roads. How do you pay back something that benefits the whole park?
