 We're looking at it like we have to play some team in that final, and for us to focus on our team and our preparation, bringing our best game, no matter who the opponent is.

 We never focus on records anyway, but the girls know how other teams are doing. In preparation for any game, we focus on style of play, match-ups and tendencies. We always respect every opponent because when you don't, you will pay the price.

 It's hard to not feel happy about a win, but that was not our best game. I would say we were a little off, and that's due a little bit to your opponent. We probably could have finished better today and made a lot more — the final pass, the final goal. Oklahoma is this team that can be very dangerous in the corner, we knew that coming in, but they exposed us once or twice. But, it never broke down the team. Overall, team defense was pretty good today.

 It's really been our goal all year long to try and get our team to respect each opponent whether it's a top-10 team or non-ranked one. Going into conference play, Vermont and Albany both have dreams of going to play in the tournament and a win against us would put one of them in, so we really need to focus on beating them.

 For 2007 and 2008 we are exploring several options, including Grambling State. We are excited about bringing this team to Houston and giving our football team and fans another home game and a very entertaining opponent.

 For us right now the focus is definitely going to be on results. If we can come out and definitely put together a good performance and do all the things we need to do then you gain a little psychological effect with the fact that you are going into the Open Cup Final on Wednesday. But, we go a game at a time right now since it is the end of the season. We just need to focus on taking another step forward with our team and making ourselves better and get prepared for the final push in the playoffs.

 That's what we pride ourselves on -- being able to play against anyone. It doesn't matter what the other team does, it's what we do. It's something we focus on a lot -- making sure we play the style of game that makes us successful.

 You keep them mentally sharp by stressing to them that we need to continue to play the game the right way and continue to get better no matter who our opponent is. You must have respect for every opponent you play. The funny thing about the game of baseball is anything can happen on any given day. You can run into a tough pitcher, you can have a bad day and you can get beat. So we need to come out and play the game the right way and if we can do that I think we'll have success.

 We can't worry about the possible history that's going to play into this game. We've got to take it as another football game. ... We've got to focus on this game, not get caught up in the hype. We've got to focus on this team and this team alone.

 I think this team understands that we have to be able to resolve those issues in the first half and bring more energy to the game, and play more tactfully more intelligently. More players have to have better games than what we saw tonight, . It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. .. We have to use this game as a motivator for our upcoming matches and I'm sure that they will. This team will show its abilities, I'm sure in the final parts of this season and I'm sure that they will so our fans get what they want to see in the Open Cup Final against Dallas on Wednesday.

 Everybody talks about his great voice and his ability to describe and that was true. But what I remember most is his preparation. He would study everything about an opponent and learned enough football so he could see a team line up and know where the play was going to go.

 We have a clock for each team, ... What we try to
point out is you need to use every second to get ready for the opportunity to
play a ball game because you only have, in this day and age, eleven
opportunities, and next year begins twelve. You have to make sure you use your
preparation time to get ready for that and most especially use your preparation
time throughout the entire year so you're at your best in that last game. That's
just something we believe in terms of preparation and something that we talk
about and obviously have.

 Our focus for Saturday is to be better than we are today. It is a step by step process, irrespective of our opponent or location of the game. What I really like about this team right now is that both our starters and bench are becoming more consistent in their strong play. If we continue making those gains and learning how to take control on game day we will be very happy with the end results.

 We pressed them and stepped up a lot higher. St. Louis struggled to put their combinations together. Going into this game, I didn't think we were a good pressing team, but the guys showed me a lot of character. I learned something about our team — more than anything — that we can be a team that steps up and denies a lot of space for the opponent to play. In hindsight, had we put two halves together like the second half, we may have gotten the win.

 Obviously, after playing at USC where we won almost every game we played in, then going to a team that may struggle, it (will be tough). But it's all (about) preparation and work. I work hard no matter what, and I will bring my accountability and my work ethic to an organization and help that team win.
