Many times we capitalized; sometimes we didn't.

 We got done three times on the counter by an awfully good team and they managed to stick their chances away. We had a boat load of chances at this end and we missed some absolute sitters and it cost us in the end.  Fundamentals are the key. Defensively, we work on tackling and block defeat. Those are the two things we have to work on every day. Any good defense does those things every day. Offensively, we have to work on blocking and protecting the football. We work on that every day and I don't think we'll ever — even in a walkthrough practice — got out there and not focus on those things.

 It tightened up a little bit toward the end of practice yesterday and I pulled him out of that second practice. He's just getting back in the swing of things. It's not near as bad as it was when he left but I just don't want to take any chances. It would be nonproductive.

 Hannah will catch that ball more times than not. Part of the issue is the lack of quality practice time that we've had. Yes, it's late in the year, but how much of the practice time have we missed. A play that you should make will be harder on you.

 Looking back on it, there have been some missed opportunities. I know I've missed a couple of things. Defenses have played us soft; we've tried to get behind them, and it hasn't worked out a few times.

 We missed four times in five chances on bunnies in transition in the first quarter. Had we made two of those, maybe the final score would have been different.

 As always, there are things to work on, but I am seeing the players incorporating things we work on in practice into the matches, whereas before they would work on it in practice, but never attempt in an actual game. These players are growing with each play and getting stronger and stronger and more confident.

 Offensively, there was just zero consistency. Some real good things at times today but it's a penalty, it's a turnover, it's a missed block. The offense moved the ball at times and made some big plays but then turned it over five times.

 I can't list all the things that I have missed that were significant. My youngest son a week or so ago hit his first home run. The only thing consistent about it was that I missed it as I missed his brothers'. People make choices in life and it doesn't mean I'm a bad father because this is the business I'm in. This is my way of contributing to the family. My work takes me out of town.

 I think we outplayed them. We had tons of shots; they didn't go in for us. We missed the net and hit the pipe I don't know how many times. The goalie stood on her head. We had our chances.
