 Every other Sutter hospital has recognized the importance of our reasonable requests. What is wrong with Eden Medical Center? An industry standard contract directly improves the quality of care our patients would receive. I do not want to strike, but like the caregivers who walked the picket line for nine weeks at CPMC, I am willing to do whatever it takes.

 Northwest does not want a strike and we remain actively engaged at the negotiating table. At the same time, however, we have the responsibility to make orderly and timely provisions to minimize confusion and disruptions should a strike occur. We want to keep our passengers fully informed and to assist them with alternative travel arrangements.

 We decided it was less expensive to rebuild Sutter Memorial over on the Sutter General campus.

 The union asked the mediator to book out, so that puts them back into a strike position.

 He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. The word 'measured' could very readily disappear now. They'll probably tweak the words one more time in the direction of being that much more open-ended, but maybe with the emphasis on 'ended' than 'open.

 We believe the current range of analyst estimates for the first quarter ended September 30, 2005 and for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2006, are reasonable and achievable.

 If that doesn't work, the mediator comes in and helps everybody talk to one another. Basically what the mediator tries to do is get our heads, hearts and our mouths all in the same sequence.

 The statistics may show we strike more blacks, but it's not because they're black, ... It's because for one reason or another, they (prosecutors) don't think they are going to be fair and impartial.

 The road to peace is a very long road that has many milestones. If indeed the summit ended in failure it is our duty to ensure that it is not the last summit, and to leave the door open for dialogue, because the alternative is war.

 A strike simply was not something we wanted to do. I mean, the cost to our members, to the community, to kids was just — it would have had to really be a huge disparity between the district's offer and ours for us to consider it. The differences were not that great and in the end, with the help of the mediator, we split the difference.

 We are gratified to receive the support from all the mayors, as well as from Senator Boxer and Representative Pelosi. It points up the fact that caregivers want a compromise agreement that benefits our patients. We don't understand what's wrong with Sutter Health that it would force a strike instead.

 This contract is a major victory for patients. It is unfortunate that these workers had to strike for 7 days and get locked out in order to win better patient care standards. But now standards at Eden are finally in line with those at every other Sutter hospital in the Bay Area.

 It is unconscionable that you could not find a way to open this process up to the public.

 Elliott has not recommended a specific alternative strategy for shareholders to consider. We do not believe that it is in the Fund's best interest to operate without an active management agreement.
