 Tax reform and expanded trade are going to be so important to the economy of Illinois, particularly the 11th Congressional District, which is a major manufacturing and a major agricultural district.

 We have to stop out-migration in Nebraska, and we have to do it with agriculture. The Third District is the largest agricultural district in the U.S. It's No. 1 in cattle, in corn and has the highest per capita number of people working in agriculture. I am the only agriculture guy in the race.

 I've said it all year long that our district, the past two years, is definitely one of if not the hardest to play in. Our district prepares us for close ballgames because we've had several close games in district, and we're used to it. That's a compliment to our district as far as how tough it is.

 The most important factor leading to our trade deficit is that the U.S. economy has had much higher rates of economic growth and job creation than our major trading partners over the past decade,

 The national media is ... clueless when it comes to knowledge about Congressional District 22 and its political makeup. Tom DeLay has been extremely attentive to the needs of District 22 since 1984. He had done a fine job for Texas and continues to do a fine job for us. So the question is not whether he wins, but how big he wins.

 The repercussions on global trade would be devastating, ... Given that virtually all major economies have a surplus with the (United States), trade disruptions would shutter manufacturing plants and curtail global demand for most commodities.

 Nick Lampson shouldn't pat himself on the back just yet. We have something that's more important. We have friends and supporters that voters in the 22nd Congressional District admire and respect.
