 We have been very clear in the past few months about our feeling that the Explorer has serious safety issues. We certainly believe that when a car experiences a tread separation or a blowout, the driver should be able to pull over to the side of the road and change the tire.

 It definitely was a blowout. The vehicle did not skid. The tread separated from the tire.

 We as a tire manufacturer have recommended a tire pressure on these tires of 30 PSI, ... We believe very strongly that 30 PSI provides consumers with additional safety margin. With 30 PSI, the Explorer can handle over 400 pounds extra load.

 The real issue here is the safety of the Explorer, ... Ford refused to look at issues surrounding the Explorer in August. Ford failed to do that today.

 There is a big difference in this facility regarding the parking and storage of vehicles. We designed the route to have mostly driver side turns for safety issues.

 Our officers don't know every person, ... But, I'll guarantee you, any parent would call us if someone swerved on the road, we didn't pull the driver over, and that driver hit someone.
